This looks like a very interesting place. My Guangdong friends took me to nearby Guilin and Yangshuo. We are planning to travel later this year. Thanks for sharing.

China looks beautiful, but why many fleeing to the west or southeast asia?
What the pity. Lack of inhabitants. Truely a relics & must preserve at all cost. If there are sufficient inhabitants, certainly it will shine further. May need some touch up for easy excess & save tracking. Touch up is important for conducive touring around & maintain pleasantness to eyes, also to advoid it from descent into delipidated states & be seen as squatter areas or desolate or destitute living areas. At this state, it would not of any helps for tourism but unpleasantness to visit. For better world. Cultural relics are all world heritage.
I’m glad there’s no background music. Well done indeed!

Wow, stunning. That’s what’s looks like over a thousands years ago. By being there is better than reading history books and look at historical pictures. I wonder what air smells like? What’s the temperature?

Like most surviving ancient village around the world, 'the curse of love'. That is, Without tourism, they wouldn't survived. Likewise, with tourism, they would survived either!!!!

Wow this satisfies all of my fantasies about the life of minorities of China. All of the descriptions in the ancient books are actually real. Crying

Thank you so much for your heartfelt comment! It's awesome to hear that the video brought those ancient book descriptions to life for you. The history and culture of China's minorities are truly fascinating. I'm glad it resonated with you. Thanks for watching!

I love it! In my mind I'm imagining beautiful people in hanfu costume going up and down the stairs. It must be very beautiful to recreate that scene...On the other hand, it must be tough to live in this village. If you have to buy heavy stuff like beds and cabinets , it would be quite a nightmare to bring it to your home. Carrying groceries alone must be a challenge. I guess people learned to ride a horse through those steps... That would also be hard for the elderly & disabled I imagine. Medical emergency and the threat of fire would be a worry. If you are not a local you could easily get lost through the labyrinth. This actually reminds me of the favelas in Brazil but this one has a dreamy quality to it & more quaint... As a tourist spot, this is quite a fascinating place to visit. 😀

Thank you for your thoughtful comment! Imagining people in hanfu costumes walking up and down the stairs really does create a beautiful scene. Living there can be tough, though. Hauling heavy stuff like beds or groceries up those narrow paths must be a real challenge, and it’s definitely hard for the elderly and disabled. Emergencies and fires are a big worry too. The main paths are actually just three, so getting around is quite simple. As a tourist spot, it's definitely a fascinating place to visit. Thanks for watching!

Ancient and beautiful architecture, a piano outside in the rain, and a solar panel with a mirror! Somebody has enough power to charge their phones and have some light at night. Or for that small led sign. However, they could use the services of a plumbing company to reroute the pipes and put them underground. That would help complete the Ming and Qing dynasty look.
@chinawhereaboutsАй бұрын
Thank you for your keen observations! The blend of ancient architecture with modern elements like the solar panel is quite interesting. It’s great to see the mix of old and new. I agree, having the plumbing pipes rerouted underground would definitely enhance the authentic Ming and Qing dynasty look. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!

Hopefully the authoriy will give this ancient village a facelift and the interiors of the houses rejuvenated retaining its character but better facilities to make it a tourist desination.

Pretty nice village but when I've seen the CCP cameras keeping an eye on people I thought no way I would like to live there... everywhere in china is like an outdoor jail, I value my privacy dearly
@shineluvslambielАй бұрын
What kind of privacy do you need exactly when you are wandering around in public? If you want so much privacy on public maybe you should stay home?
@noproblem2big337Ай бұрын
@@shineluvslambiel ...those cameras are just meters from habitable buildings, you may be comfortable with being under the watchful eyes of your government but here in Australia they would never be allowed, we love our freedom

@@dbestplanner I totally agree with your point in a city with crime cameras help to keep law and order, then even though this is a beautiful picturesque town it is not a place i would like to live in...we just don't see cameras in residential streets i could walk around all day and not see one camera on a footpath yet feel very safe we do have the occasional traffic cameras on busy roads for speeding motorists that's perfectly fine with me

The CCP keeps a close eye on the ethnic groups like the Yao.

Beautiful mountain ranges beyond the houses, this place could be more beautiful and gorgeous if things are more tidy and cleaned up and buildings have been taken care of. I could imagine that this area might have been very beautiful in the past.
@chinawhereaboutsАй бұрын
Thank you for your insightful comment! The mountain ranges around Nangang Village are indeed stunning and add to the village's unique charm. Maintaining such an ancient place can be challenging, and while some areas might show their age, they also reflect the village's long history. Efforts to preserve and restore historical sites are ongoing, and it's fascinating to imagine how magnificent it must have looked in the past. Your appreciation for its beauty is much appreciated, and I hope the video brought you a sense of the village's enduring allure. Thanks for watching!
