A "true" soft summer person is glowing and the skin appears healthy and fresh with the soft summer colors, not drab or boring,, than something is wrong, sorry.

She should cover the hair. And the background should be neutral. It's about what does the colors for the skin. It doesnt matter what eye color or hair color we got. Because many people dyied the hair. She looks lovely in her colors.

that Radley video was great. I love their bags. I had my CMB colours done in my 30's and now I am 63. I have grey eyes a cool toned skin and my hair is turning grey/silver. I was a Warm Autumn last time but my hair was copper coloured(dyed). I suspect I am different now?

Some years ago I had a consultation with CMB, I was given a pallete/book for 'Light Summer'. BUT when I check out now/online I appear to be a 'SOFT SUMMER' ...is it possible to change as one gets older?
@colourmebeautiful4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Mel. Yes! Indeed, your palette of colours can change as you age. We ditched the seasons approximately 11 years ago. A Light Summer is now Light & Cool, a Soft Summer is now Soft & Cool. If you feel that you’re in need of an update, please visit our website. Click on ‘services for women’ and check out the section on the ‘colour review’. www.colourmebeautiful.co.uk/services-for-women

Her coloring reminds me of the subject of Manet's painting Plum Brandy where her hair has a warmth, and her skin has a coolness. Angela Lansbury has that same coloring, as do I. Stylist David Zyla categorizes us as clear, and calls us the Early Spring. The palette is warmer and gentler than the vivid palette of the Vital Spring. One of the tip offs is that she's described as smart. David Zyla uses the term, "To the manor born." We are often mistaken for warm, because we tend to look good in camels, beiges and creams.

She has my natural coloring. I have had hair like her (now I'm graying on my crown) and blue-grey-green eyes and my facial skin coloring is like hers. I used to wear these warm colors when I was younger. These cool summer colors I've been wearing take my energy away. In pictures on my phone, the cool summer colors seem tiring on me. I recently got some tops from my mom's friends' donations. I put on an orange shade and an apple green shade and I saw the glow return to my skin.

Ummmmm. I'm not sure this woman has deep features. Dark skin doesn't mean you're automatically deep. She's obviously more warm and even clear. I don't agree that brights suit her because her features are far too soft. And no, not EVERY black person can pull off bright colors! Everyone is different.
@victoriataylor55842 жыл бұрын
She does, her eyes and hair are dark, that makes deep features.

Yes brighter colors do fit very well with warm and clear skins. It gives them contrast.

The characteristic of deep winters are the depth in their eyes, and hair.

I'm a soft summer (and hate it!), but I guess that's why I love wearing gray so much!

Me too, it feels so boring, old and pink. And for some reason everyone insist in making everything floral with those colours. I hate florals.

So you say she's a Light possibly Light Spring? could she also be a soft? The video is so gray..that it gives an illusion of softness

What does this woman know...most bright colours suit dark skin. She is not the right one to judge this in my opinion.

Everyone knows bright colors look great on dark skinned people. I believe some people envy this, therefore trying to down play it to pacify their insecurities.

I am just learning about which colors are right for which skin tones. I would love to see an updated version on the color me beautiful clear winter skin tone as this video seems super dated. I also think it would be helpful to list the makeup colors used underneath the video in the info section. Thanks for sharing.

Haha, I sympathize with you. Although I do agree with a lot of the color wheel, because some of my favorite shades of colors just look terrible on me. I guess just like straight haired women wants curls and vise versa, the same is with colors.

I appreciate she used a darker skinned model but she threw two palettes on her and then just said "yeah that's your color" huh??!! There are other colors that could have also looked good and she gave no explanation as to why those colors looked the best. I would not call this an adequate color analysis.
@chickenleg0026 жыл бұрын
Adria Buchanan I’m guessing here, but in each one she seems to only try two sets of colors. I believe she has narrowed them down in advance so that the presentation can be more brief. I have always had trouble puzzling my season out so I am binge watching a lot of these and noticed the pattern. This way they have time for color & selling the bags!

hi, i've ash brown hair, dark brown eyes and bluish cyan veins... but i'm not sure about what my skin tone is, it's between beige and rose, i can't decide it... i think it's beige-rose or cool peach. when i wear cool and dark colors(petrol blue, dark navy, blueberry, emerald green) my skin looks more rosy and luminous but when i wear warm and light colors(especially orange and orange-red) my skin looks more and more sallow and pale... what is my season, can you help me?
@Sydneythewoman7 жыл бұрын
Deniz Muhtar definitely winter. Sounds like a deep winter perhaps
@imaginativegirl1266 жыл бұрын
You are a winter. It's difficult to say which one... Ashy hair and rosy beige skin are typical of a True/Cool Winter - their skin is the most intolerant of any warmth. But it could be dark winter as well. A good way to distinguish between them is to compare which yellow you look best in: A light lemon yellow with zero warmth (True Winter) or goldenrod yellow which is a little warmer (Dark Winter), the second being a bit darker and richer. A second way would be to compare whether you look better in Forest Green (Dark Winter) or a very cool Pine Green (Cool Winter). DW can wear Pine Green as well but they look a little better in Forest Green IMO. DW can wear a few warm colors as well like a darker version of tomato red while a True Winter can only wear a true or blue red. Also, TW can wear rose pink while DW cannot.
