Very cool video. One question though is why you selected two very similar lures. Unless doing a comparison to see which one outperforms the other, I’d typically use two lures of different size and color.
@GTFOutside15 сағат бұрын
@@nickcaldarelli3609 it’s hard for me to beat white, that’s the color of the bait they’re eating in there more than any other. Situationally I’ve gone between the two depending on how spooky the snook are. The NLBN has considerably less movement when fished at lower speeds, I started the morning with it knowing it was actually a bit more subtle. The slam shady kicks a ton more so I fished it when things got warmer knowing it could cause more commotion. All that as well as knowing they both work very well for that area is why I went with them. I throw a decent variety of baits and colors as a whole, as far as that place is concerned, I know what to mimic in there.

I come down to north of Tampa to visit my brother each year, I've caught 2 three pounders and a third one which was my best at 3.7lbs 19 inches or so. We weighed the biggest one. I've only been doing it for a couple years as my brother only got back into bass fishing 2 years ago, so it's become part of the trip each year now to go fishing. I'd love to know some patterns you use for bass and for the little tarpon you fly fish for. I want to try to get him to take me after small tarpon and schnook in the mangroves. I'd love some pattern names that work for those species, recommendations or anything. That bass you landed was easily 5lbs but I'm not great at judging weight. I'm a trout fishermen and they're mostly measured in length and I have no talent for guessing weight lol. But I'd say at least 5lbs and 20-22 inches. That thing was a giant. And it's funny, you can fish a spot for bass for 45 minutes before one finally swims over to see your fly. Had that happen this year I was just about to leave and hooked into a nice 3lber after casting a spot for at least a half hour. I didn't catch all them big bass in one day or anything by the way, those are just my best ones. Thanks if you get back to me and your editing and shot composition are excellent, friend.
@GTFOutside26 күн бұрын
Hey brother, I appreciate the comment! As far as the poon flies, I’d look into flies called the Black Death and Shminnows. They’re basic patterns but work for poons pretty well. As far as snook goes, I’d look for bigger baitfish patterns. Game changers work well as well. A Clouser works well for just about anything as well. I’ve caught bass, poons, snook, redfish, salmon, literally everything I’ve ever fished for on Clousers. They’re do it all. Give me a shout on instagram or Facebook when you end up over this way and I can point you in the right direction as far as where the fish will be. I try to stay pretty dialed in. Thanks for the comment again man,
