Mr. Wolpoff is REALLY good. I love his cynical, in-your-face attitude. This short interview hardly touches the surface of his knowledge or communication skills. Those are displayed much better in his KZbin talk on 09 Aug 2016 about "Security 101 Workshop: Mobile Security." The exact link follows: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHy9l4Jnj6ljhck Wolpoff is the co-founder and chief tech officer for RANDORI. The term, "randori," is phonetic for a specific, time-honored Japanese term ( " 乱取り " ) formerly restricted to the martial arts. The concept of "randori" aptly applies to Wolpoff's profession of computer security because it emblemizes the one-on-one conflict between hacker and defender. Hacking is a "free exercise" or mano-to-mano combat in which the hacker faces off against the white knight of security practices. Will the hacker win or be turned away? The founder of judo himself -- that's gotta be a credible guy! -- referred to "radori" as an actual contest of martial arts: a face-to-face confrontation that includes throwing, choking, and/or holding the opponent down. In fact, the two combatants may use whatever methods they like, provided only that they obey the rules of Judo concerning etiquette, which in turn includes the rule that they do not hurt each other. See judoinfo.com/kano1/ [accessed last on 24 Apr '20]. Like the martial arts, hacking defense requires constant practice, deep knowledge, and mental concentration in order to perfect the mindset of a winner. "Randori" captures it all. "Randori" is the perfect term for what Wolpoff does -- and does so very well! Mr. David's linked in info is found at the following URL: www.linkedin.com/in/wolpoffd
