Thank you for your thoughts. In the USA, when it comes to witchcraft (traditional, folk or Wicca), we typically put an emphasis on self-initiation (which stems from some forms of British Trad Craft where you seek out the Witch Father/Mother for initiation) but I felt like that I might seek out an initiation in a lineage tradition because I felt a connection with select traditions (mostly esoteric, witchy or not) that fits much of my worldview, and I think a mentorship would be valuable for my self-growth, especially when it comes to energy work. I hadn't even considered some of the stuff you brought up when I was sitting on that thought. It's not going to be this year but I'm going to keep that consideration in mind in the next five years and see where life takes me.

Thank you so much for this video. It was thoughtful and interesting. I've love to see a follow up video on navigating witchcraft online, if you're still considering making one. I'm one of those people for whom the internet opened up community for me -- this year I took virtual Reclaiming classes, and between the pandemic, autism, other chronic illnesses and disabilities, and distance, the internet makes community more accessible for me -- and sometimes even just possible. I'm always astounded when I hear people -- even respected teachers say that internet rituals don't work, or don't work as well.

Wow, I’m late to this, but it’s absolutely a fantastic lecture! I can’t remember who said it but they said that witchcraft chose them, and that’s exactly how I feel about my experience as well. I fought it for a long time, to my detriment. I think I still had some deeply embedded past life fears. I got over it. Now I freely scream my anarchistic warrior cry lol.

I didn't become an adult till my thirties.... you clearly were way ahead of me! Lol! I didn't hear about reclaiming until my mid thirties.
