Love this makeover. People can have a beautiful home with a little paint and different angles changed on this home.

I think ppl paint their concrete sidewalks red because red is the complement of green, and this makes green lawns and shrubs beside the red walk pop. However, I also do not like red sidewalks, nor red mulch. I prefer color on the house and trim, with a neutral color for the concrete. Then use flowers to add more color.

I used to love hgtv with shows like this & interior design, but I don't watch any of the new stuff. The buy & sell, the fixes with mdf, all open plan modern design, the bigger the better & way too expensive for most people completely turned my off to the channel. As a homeowner, I want a take away that works in reality. Love this show!

I really miss this show. It's one of the best ever on HGTV... Bring it back... with John.

I find with alot of landscape design these days that the designers want that instant established look. Thus the hard construction tends to dominate the design. The planting design and use of trees and shrubs should be the main and dominant design feature. They are things that give a great design cohesion and theme. In this design and many of the other ‘Curb Appeal’ shows the plants become ‘accessories’ to the design rather than making it a garden.

Love the steps and the designs, but would like it better if the steps were lined up with the window beyond them. I agree with the changes in the artistic designs; I'm not a big fan of the bright white trim. I think an off white would blend better. JMO, of course. Glad they removed the dead tree and planted a new one further away from the house. Hopefully it is a type that will remain open and not overwhelm the house again. Certainly a big improvement, and the neighbor's houses look really nice. I love this program. I always wonder why the best shows go off the air. Thank you for posting it.

Didn't like to see the tree go but I can understand why the gay had it removed.

This is beautiful! Only within the past few years have I come around to liking a more "modern" look - enough so that I incorporated a few furniture pieces in my home that I wouldn't have bought 10 years ago. It's interesting how tastes change over time, especially since I've retired and started watching lots of home improvement shows online (streaming services) and here. Great job, LOVE the house, LOVE what you did to the front yard.

The yard is too flowery. Should have just stayed with sod, a few flowers and a big tree to cover the steps leading to the driveway. There's too many steps in a tiny yard. Also glad they toned down all the painted scroll work.

Sigh.... :):):) I'm so proud of this. Great homeowners, great neighbors. I end all my presentations around the country with a quick glimpse at this house. Also - I keep that gift they gave me front and center. I really loved it when they gave it to me!

Fabulous design!!!!!!! My favorite for sure!!! As a designer/artist myself, I am working on exterior plans for my new digs this year- won't be near this exciting, being a tiny bungalow in Newfoundland, lol, but definitely inspired to reflect my personality, while respecting the architecture and history of my husband's childhood home. Thanks for this episode!!!
