This is a long term project. The video is not necessarily about the project but the technique on how I do paper piecing. You can apply this technique to any paper piecing project doesn’t have to be just the houses.

I'm a new quilter. Why do you turn the paper over ti the back instead of using the front?
@MadMoodyQuiltingFabrics19 күн бұрын
The confusing part of the paper piecing is that you are working on the backside and sewing normally through the paper. This technique eliminates the sewing through the paper and makes it feel more like traditional patchwork. You’re using the paper to make sure that you are accurate with your patchwork. I hope that makes sense
@judyvincent2738Ай бұрын
Thank you. I needed to be sure I was printing correctly onto the freezer paper. I had success. However, you are showing “Foundation” paper piecing, not “English”paper piecing. That might confuse some people. FPP is what I make. EPP is very different.

That was my thoughts exactly also, you could use the papers more than once by using a washable glue to temporarily glue the fabric to the paper so things will not move.

@MadMoodyQuiltingFabrics3 ай бұрын
I am sorry for the delay on getting back to you on your comment. I had to think about what you are getting at with this comment. I was on camera when I was not sewing. but I step away from the front facing camera so putting that up in the corner would be useless because I would not be in front of that camera when I am at the sewing machine. I do all the filming in one take and by myself. That said I have been able to get a fourth camera so that I can put it in a place that I will be able to film me when I am at the sewing machine and put that camera up in the corner (or the sewing machine camera) of the screen when I am at the sewing machine. I hope that this will help you and everyone else that needs to see my face. Thank you for your comment it was helpful

This is paper piecing I can not give you the dimensions. Put the file on a usb key and take it over to a printer. You may not be able to print the pattern onto freezer paper. But you can use photocopy paper and a water soluble glue stick to stick the fabric to the paper.

I love making LeMoyne Stars (my favorite block). I have had this ruler for several years. Making 45 or 60 degree stars requires precision cutting. There is no better ruler than this for being able to align on the horizontal and on the 45 because of the precision markings. It is also a fantastic tool for mitering borders. Another tool that I use for foolproof alignment is Marty Michell's Deluxe corner trimmer. I use the 45 degree dot to ensure that I have perfect offset marks.
