Brilliant! I have been putting this off . Maybe now I'll get on with this

@iancaesar427 that was the second time time I did the bungees. First time I had help. Recently two mates did the bungees on their Beagle Terrier. They had it all done in a few hours - not bad for a couple of blokes who’d never done Auster Bungees before.

@@AusterJ4 I've seen the tool you can hire to do the job and the whole thing looked like a pain. Mine are not in despirate need of changing but getting there. The idea of an engine hoist is genius.

Is it by any chance a Scott 3200 as a tail wheel? Is there an STC to mount it on the Aeronca Chief since it's not the original wheel? Thanks in advance!
@AusterJ4 Жыл бұрын
Hi Andrea, yes that is a Scott 3200. Sorry I don’t know whether an STC for the Scott 3200 on the Chief exists.

This is a nice plane. I just flew in one twice and uploaded the footage to my channel.

It almost looked like the other aircraft flew in between the 4 cranes at the terminal area.

@@dapto234 We were about 1500 feet above ground. The other plane could have been a 1000 feet below us. It’s also a convenient place for students to practice forced landings.

Good show.....never thought of using a floor hoist (aka cherry picker) to change the bungee
@AusterJ44 жыл бұрын
I’d like to claim the idea,but unfortunately it’s not mine. I was given the idea by a friend and only modified it.

I can see the fires from my house and I live in the Sydney CBD (16th floor) we are so Donald Ducked, this is Australia's 911 and when it is all over it will look like New York on the morning after.

Great job. Could you share how you created this visualisation?
@AusterJ44 жыл бұрын
Thank you Rohit Ghosh. Each days image was downloaded from the NASA FIRMS website, (check the description for links), a transparent background overlay gives the major place names. All the images were then turned into a video using iMovie. The month at a time views at the end are also downloaded from FIRMS, Except the full September to December image which was edited by hand in GIMP.

Not being a smart aleck, but could these fires have been better contained early on? Is it money? Manpower? Could(was) civilian help have been mobilized?

VH CRR that was the first aircraft I had ever flown in back in 1973 when It was owned by Eric Who owned the Esso service station South Hay we had a lot of fun flights. I caught the bug and got my PPL back in1986 and still flying today.
@AusterJ46 жыл бұрын
Fantastic to know that CRR is partly responsible for you learning to fly. I was lucky enough to buy CRR from Eric’s estate. Eric bought CRR before I was born and owned and flew it for over 40 years. I would love to know more about your experiences with Eric and CRR.
