Isn’t it just regular mica powder with gum Arabic ? . I wonder or think anyone can make them using pearl Ex micas and gum Arabic . Or am I wrong . Seems horribly over priced . They are beautiful but I almost would rather try making my own and see how they work with mica powders if they are as glittery . If these weren’t so over priced I’d get some. $200 seems a bit much . Very pretty though

How can you tell if your paper has sizing issues? The affordable paper I use has resistance at times, does that have to do with bad sizing or...?
@opalmintКүн бұрын
@@artandmusic09 it absolutely can. Sometimes it's hard to know. But it is definitely a possibility. I think with this paper, I just touched it on the corner and the oils from my hands messed with it. If you handle your paper too much, it can definitely cause problems when painting.

Love those tulips! They are simply lovely! Thank you for testing out this paper. May just have to try it! I find that sometimes painting smaller helps me not to overwork my paintings. Otherwise it’s so tempting to keep going… It’s so easy to tell when I’m watching someone else paint that they should stop but it’s harder with my own work😂

I’m happy to see you paint regardless of the paper! I’d use your brown in landscapes. I don’t trust colors on my iPad much, however it looks very much like the natural brown that Matthew palmer puts out and that is excellent for trees, branches, paths, and what not❤

Hey Ashley 👋 so what did you pay for that small of bamboo paper? I bought a sketch book and i thought it was supposed to be bigger than what it was when i got it?? I don't know how they are trying to confuse people on the size!!?? It sucks! That was Amazon??? It ended up being 3 by 5 i though it was supposed to be 5 by 7 ???? Its getting aggravating 😒 to me?? Anyway the paper looked like very good paper really. Thanks yeah I'd like to see a bigger size would be nice. Thank you 😊 and have a blessed day 🙏. JK FLORIDA USA 🇺🇸.

I remember you saying that some brushes lend to make certain flowers better. Or something to that effect. Maybe you would have felt better about the peony if you would’ve used a round brush. I’m just glad you shared your frustration. Now I know I’m not the only one that had issues with peony’s. And roses. Since you’re using a new kind of brush are there any kind of exercises or drills I can do to get use to a dagger or cat tongue brush?

I’m so happy I watched this video…well, I haven’t finished it because I wanted to make sure I had a chance to make a comment. I really resonate with your story because there are similarities to my family. I really appreciate your channel…it helps me distract myself from my personal chronic pain journey, I’m so glad I wandered on to this channel and have the opportunity to not only distract myself but also learn something about watercolor-a dream near and dear to my heart 🥰 I started my watercolor with one of those places that offer monthly subscriptions and the mail you a kit every six weeks or so. I don’t think they exist anymore. I’ve wanted to watercolor for as long as I can remember. As for where I’m at with my watercolor…I’m drawn to landscapes and flowers. Nature. I’ve done some okay landscapes but my flowers pretty much suck!😃

Thank you for mentioning that you can use a round brush to paint the leaves you did with the other brushes. I only own round brushes so usually I stop watching if the tutorial uses a different brush. Maybe now I’ll try to figure out how to use a round brush to accomplish the same thing. One last thing…for the life of me I can’t wiggle my brush to make those wonderful leaves. Thank you again!❤️

I was pleased to discover that I do everything you said to do in your tips. Especially the putting it away. I’ve been a crafter for more years than I can remember and I learned long ago to walk away from whatever I was working on. There are two things I do that you didn’t mentions. First, I remind myself that I have always learned more from fixing my mistakes than getting it “right” in the first couple tries. Secondly (and the first one kinda goes hand in hand with the second) I start researching the problem I’m having-like watching KZbin tutorials! I’m so glad we have the internet now ‘cause reading books on the subject isn’t half as good as watching videos or having access to so many articles. Thank you for sharing your process!🥰

Great video! I know color theory and I can mix basic colors, however…I can’t see what you see in the colors. For instance, you can look at a color and say it lean a bit towards this color and/or you can look at a color and know if it’s warm or cool-like a warm blue or a cool blue. I don’t even understand how you see those things. So cool! Thank you for the great lesson in color mixing!❤️ pS love Kylie’s keychain color wheel. I’m off to see if I can find one for myself! 🥰

I really enjoyed this video and I suspect I’ll come back quite a fewest times and watch it because there is so much information to absorb! I loved all the information on sizing. I’ve done some research on it and you filled in the gaps. Thank you! One thing I might add is that sizing degrades and that means watercolor paper expires. I found out the hard way by having it happen to my Arches 😢. Thank you so much for all the thought and time you put into this comparison! ❤️
