pretty good vid showing some of the realities (and challenges you don't often see) of backpacking

great video - Im locking in 2024 Hunt , so this is a nice reality check

@timident I reckon allowing yourself enough time is key. I'm an average rider at best, and I finished. Much stronger riders pulled out because they didn't allow enough time. If things go wrong, it is a very hard course to make up time on.

I think this video has convinced me not to do the hunt 😂

It's definitely a tough ride... I must be crazy because I'd do it again!

I stumbled across this event in Dargo in 2019 just before riders headed UP Billy Goats over to Licola. I was blown away then by what they were doing. This video really conveys just how hard it is. Excellent job

There are some pretty special landscapes along the route 😀.

Nice work Mark. I was among the last to not take the detour ("Dick" on Mapprogress), and as mentioned, the crossings were pretty wild! I always say I should do more documenting of my trips, but, you know.. So thanks for taking the time to share this with us.

Thanks for watching. Yes, the route was very isolated at times.

Fantastic series Mark! Blown away by the fact that yourself and the other riders were able to achieve what you did and complete The Hunt in those conditions, and then you also managed to still film so much amazing footage along the way! Well done mate 👏👏

Thanks, mate. I'm blown away by the level of interest in the series. No doubt it was a difficult route but I thoroughly enjoyed it

My only criticism is that it was the last one in the series. I really enjoyed these and thanks for sharing. Your videos have motivated me to revisit my bike packing project and finish setting things up that I abandoned almost two years ago. I’m now just about ready for my first adventure. Thanks.

Pretty accurate depiction of that track when I rode it end of Feb! Took us 6 hours, averaging 7.5kph. Highly inhospitable country, glad to have done it but won’t be rushing back

Hey Nic, I actually had a great day, but I won't be rushing back either... not without wider tyres, anyway!
