Astounding images of these old beast on such beautiful days. Why did they write "Safety First" on the nose of the locomotives?

It was the practice of the Nevada Northern during its common carrier days to emphasize a culture of safety and so the 'safety first' was plastered everywhere from buildings to locomotives to even the logo

"Final year of operation before her 1472 overhaul" I heard she's good until 2024, so that would make 2023 her last year before her overhaul. I've never seen McCloud #18 run the Gold Hill trains (I blame the Commission), so we'll likely be seeing exclusively diesel-powered Gold Hill trains until #29's overhaul is finished, or #100 is ready.

What a cool operation. The crane is a pretty amazing piece to see up and running. Even their vintage diesel roster is worth seeing. Love the six axle Alco RSD-4 and the Baldwin VO-1000.

Hey nice video! You really caught the spirit for the railfans of this great special train! Hoping to see more of the footage you shot get out there soon LOL. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves on calling it the final year of operation. We'll see soon, I suspect.
