Love the truly Canadian-coded Mr Dressup Tickle Trunk reference!! We had a Little Tykes (I believe) storage bin full of costumes that my mom always referred to as the Tickle Trunk for that reason and I only understood the reference when I was older 😊

Now my charms are all o’erthrown, And what strength I have’s mine own, Which is most faint. Now, ’tis true I must be here confined by you, Or sent to Naples. Let me not, Since I have my dukedom got And pardoned the deceiver, dwell In this bare island by your spell; But release me from my bands With the help of your good hands. Gentle breath of yours my sails Must fill, or else my project fails, Which was to please. Now I want Spirits to enforce, art to enchant; And my ending is despair, Unless I be relieved by prayer, Which pierces so that it assaults Mercy itself, and frees all faults. As you from crimes would pardoned be, Let your indulgence set me free.

I really hope this show gets recorded - I have already attended the show twice (with different friends) and the cast nailed their performances - making it worth the journey both times. Please record this show! One needs Dan Chameroy and the team on instant repeat professing our shared joy for playful "MUSICALS!" (insert jazz hands here).

Absolutely brilliant! My cheeks hurt from non-stop laughing, my hands were sore from clapping and my head was filled with the music and songs as I left the theatre. This is one heck of a very clever show, excellently performed, sung and danced by a fantastic cast. Well done!

I live in Stratford and I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve seen over 200 shows at the Festival and this is by far the best thing they’ve ever done. Broadway shows pale in comparison to what we do here. Do not miss this show. You’re in for a real treat!

I will say that I love this song just because it points out the problems with Shakespeare's work that aren't the common response of "nobody understands a word he says" Every. Single. Time. It pisses me of when that's everyone's response because he was clearer than most other authors at the time!

Great people. I love 'em both. Margaret with her face like a great Queen of the Ancient World, wiser than Cleopatra, firmer than Nefertiti, shrewder than Elizabeth I, more corrosive than Helen of Troy. Yes sir, hers the face that launched. . . and spoiler alert!-in this very interview they talk of Kit Marlowe! But the painting on the wall behind the Italian man! Is it him in his youth in a bout of playful wrestle? Leontes and Polixenes? Or Charles and Orlando who throws him in As You Like It? I didn't like it I loved it. Thank you team at Stratford for your generosity, Timon like! By the way do any of you remember Tymon Dogg whose song was on the Clash's Sandinista? Side 5 I think it was! I'm gonna lose this skin that I'm imprisoned in. I wonder if Madame Atwood knows that! She's 84 now? Is she the wrong generation to know the Clash? Strummer was a generous man; he would give away thousands. There are tales of Joe going to cashpoints to relieve his friends. To pay their mortgages and debts to drug barons.
