Hello and thanks for the video! I have torch fired about 20 PMC3 pieces and I was checking the strength of a piece after it was cooled and polished. It broke in half and the inside looked like chalk or unfired PMC. I fired it according to the suggested fire times per the size of my piece. I was wondering if this is normal. Do all fired PMC pieces look like this on the inside? I am worried that if I sell my pieces and God forbid they break, I don't want ppl to feel ripped off because metal clay is expensive! Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, sorry for not checking for questions. I posted this video 4 years ago. If a piece breaks it is not sintered. Once the metal reaches a high enough temperature for a long enough time all of the tiny metal clay particles will join together-sinter. When I torch fire pieces, they are not ones that will take a lot of wear like a ring.

Just so you know, if you use the Ott Light, which is daylight balanced florescent light you MUST always use AWB on your camera. If you are using a table lamp then you should use the Tungsten/Incandescent setting. These are the the two best settings when photographing with digital cameras. I teach photography and this is what I show my students.

Could you do this on Cardstock? How about setting the blade to do a shallow cut then using a dried out pen in the Silhouette to emboss the design after the Cut?

Can you fire the strip and then work with it? I am trying to work out if it would be similar to a fine silver bezel strip that can be bought in standard sizes. Great, informative video thanks!!

That was great.. I am looking forward to your video on setting the stone with the bezel wire.. You know, when my son was little, his first BIG word was "actually"... so I tend to notice when I hear it said.. and you said it nine times :) you are adorable !

I would seriously like to know what settings you used on the Silhouette Cameo to cut through copper clay. That's unbelievable, and very nice work. I love the end result.

I've been wanting to subscribe to that magazine! How many times a year does it come out? Also, do you know whether the new silver Art Clay is as durable as the old recipe? I make some very high end hollow bangle bracelets and have been reluctant to try the new clay because I worry it might be more brittle.

Hi Wanaree- Long time fan of your amazing work. If you buy the Cameo, does it require purchases of additional software to do this type work? If so, what type do you recommend?
