Three months late, but hey! Original author of "E1M1.wad" speaking, I appreciate this reading of my silly little story, and I dont mind it being alright. It aint my most ambitious, nor is it my scariest/darkest project. I wanted to see how I wrote a creepypasta for myself while taking inspiration from a friend of mine's idea. Which, of course, kickstarted this whole story in the first place lol I never intend on making this like any other creepypasta, which no offense, I feel like theres more to touch on than the usual four to five subjects when scrolling through the wiki. E1M1.wad was meant to be more psychological and linear to follow, while also testing the player's brain and experimenting with progression in the story. None of that hyperrealistic, overly gory, tasteless bullshit that 7869 tried to do when it was the "Doom Creepypasta" that everyone knew about. Not to mention, Doom really doesnt get all that much credit or potential for Creepypasta material and I wouldn't blame ya for saying that its hard to make it work on an independent level. Overrall, I'm fine with this opinion! I might have plans to make a playable version of E1M1.wad, but I'll see what I can do with ZScript and SLADE, it shouldnt be too hard. Take care! -TGK

Hey, appreciate that you left a comment on this video and listen to my narration of the video! I do feel the story could really work well as an actual Doom WAD as I know people do get engaged the most with strange Doom WADs when they play them blindly. I do like the psychological approach you went with on a player discovering a twisted E1M1 that goes beyond being "made from memory", making the player question on what was the WAD's true intent. I must admit it is difficult for me to find Doom scary mainly because of how I perceive the main games, but I have seen and played WADs that did made Doom unsettling so it's not impossible. I must admit, I do wish there are more creepypastas of games that don't get that much attention so I am happy that you did write E1M1.wad in the end. Doom definitely could use more stories and I don't think 7869.wad gives the best idea of what a Doom creepypasta can be. If a playable E1M1.wad comes around in the future, I'll definitely keep an eye out. Thank you again for leaving a comment, have a good day!

No special configuration, I just toned down the brightness a bit I think? I remember it being high by default with ZDaemon but otherwise it's just the software renderer at a high resolution. My PC these days is different than when this video was out so I have no trouble running ZDaemon at a high framerate.

When I was beating bright island on serious difficulty, I was ecpecting experience pretty close to original campaigns, but got ABSOLUTELY thundercunted by the amount of enemies, I had to deal with. It's not serious sam, from this point it's straight up formidable samus.

If I can remember, the Bright Island campaign isn't polished for release, it was rushed out and there wasn't enough time to balance it for higher difficulties. So Serious difficulty is a frustrating experience and really just not a good time.

@@guynamederick just played it again and dropped it because of the 4 generators arena. This is just crazy shit. In span of less than 1 minute whole room was inflated by kleers and kamiadzes + 2 red biomechanoids, I didn't even had any space to maneuver...

Man this old playthrough is garbage, I should replace it some day. And what timing, I have been thinking of replaying Hacx just some time ago. If I ever get around to redoing this video, it'll be played through GZDoom in the hardware render with vanilla sector lighting and will be recorded at 1440P 60FPS. Also I'll make sure each level run is a good run instead of what looks like a rough first attempt.

Recently, I wanted to finally play through the classics, and introduce the series to 3 friends, but ran into a problem. There was no easy way to connect with friends on Classic because it was so outdated. I learned that we had to forward ports, which wasn't an option for 1 of my friends due to him using a steam deck, and he was living in a hotel while in tech school I also didn't want to burden my friends of installing and learning how to use software like Hamachi. I wanted all around easy for all of us to play. Serious Sam Classics Revolution solved that problem for me. I hosted a server on the game, and my friends were allowed to join it by using the in-game server browser. Classics Revolution also allowed me to adjust enemies spawn rate to make it more fun for 4 players. Very solid way to experience the first and second encounters with friends out of the box. Another small thing, while exploring the settings, Classic Revolution lets me change the HUD to styles, including the HUD from the Xbox original version, which was something I really liked! Overall, if you want an easy way to play with friends, it's a pretty solid experience overall. I definitely recommend picking it up on sale.

All battlefield games have terrible hit reg. Something they did around bf1 launch messed up hit detection for all the old games. Don’t know how or what the did but like die said in another comment it’s probably on the server end that’s causing hit detection problems. Sucks they killed the game. Dice gets mad when the old games have more players than their new halfassed games.
