Otherworldy. I started playing oboe since December 2024, been playing saxophones since 1995. Jean-Luc Fillon is one of the reasons I've wanted to learn oboe, and after attempting to play along with this video...I have a lot of work ahead of me, and that's okay!

Every so often, I return to this because of how my level of understanding was more so limited when this first uploaded. Now I appreciate it more than I did 16 years ago. It just gets better the more I return to it. Thank you for this marvelous performance, all of you! Merci beaucoup!

Almost nothing is as cool as jazz oboe. Maybe jazz bassoon on a good day... 😆 In any case, I've been following this guy on Facebook for a couple of weeks now and just LOVE what he does. I can't wait to hear what he comes up with next!

Paul Hanson is the answer regarding Jazz Bassoon :-). They collaborated on a project titled Late Trane which is an homage to John Coltrane…just fantastic

@@PioneersofRadioComedy If there's any musician I'd travel far to see, it's both of them! Any time I share the greatness of them, it's usually like, "Oh that's cool!" and that's as far as it gets haha.
