It is probable that the most correct execution (rhythmic inequality and more dancing speed, many semi-phrases following one another...) is this one by Gardiner. He pertinently respects a framework of elegance typical for the Entree. Minkowsky's version is slower, equalizes the descending notes, producing long phrases, with very rhetorical utterances. Gardiner gives a version of perfection... not memorable. Minkowsky reads this piece from... afar and leaves you speechless and you will never forget this music.

In 1969 at the Colonial Tavern in Toronto I had the privilege of meeting Willie Mae ( Big Mama ) Thornton. It was quite a thrill which I will never forget.
