It does not become an even green color. I have stirred the paint pot well and I am using an OO brush. What could I have done wrong? Should I apply a second layer after the paint has dried? Do you think the Inter kit contrast would have improved if they were on blue bases with black discs? I think it'sthe black base that makes the team appear dark.

What is the best make of paints to use for painting these players?

I've had successful results removing numbering from base tops firmly rubbing them with cotton buds soaked in white spirit then rinsing them immediately with cold or warm soapy water to remove any trace of the white spirit. Another pleasure to watch your skills in action, always lots of great advice. Keep em coming.

Very interesting. Just to correct one thing. From the original figures I've seen (subbuteo museum as an example) Barcelona Ref 19 was always painted on flesh coloured plastic not white as you suggested at the start of the video. Either way fascinating video.

Great work on the Caribou ...I'm just getting back into Subbuteo after a 12 year hiatus ....Being an American , I wanted to get some old NASL teams customized & one of the teams I chose were the Caribou ...1 year team (1978) ...probably the most unique uniform in sports history...but wouldn't want to have had played in one of those , prancing around in buckskin fringe tassels looking quite effeminate 🤣...I was lucky when I played as a winger wore something more acceptable ...green & white stripes like your jersey in the background n black shorts Lol

Hi! I recently got back to painting subbuteo figuers, which I used to do back when I was a teenager. I have obviously lost most of my skills, but there is something in particular that is bothering me. I'm using matte Army Painters acrylics, still, some players look so shiny like if I used gloss paint. Cant understand what I m doing wrong, Any idea?
