Because they are selfish…. Forget all these nonsense labels for once in to life and just hold people accountable for their behaviours. Simple as that.

My PA work colleague: failing to acknowledge my work contributions, sabotaging my work initiatives, rejecting my suggested improvements, refusing to cooperate, the silent treatment/stonewalling, playing the victim, lodging complaints with our manager. Horrid behaviour!

Why won’t you tell your age? This is what inspires people. I just thought women had evolved past the notion that aging was a negative. I’m 64 and have no issue whatsoever letting people know. It shares the era you grew up in. And that makes you more interesting. 😊. And good for you! It’s not easy to learn to ski later in life.

I like wearing headphones so I can focus my brain on a single sound! Since there are like a million noises in my house constantly and I find it hard to pick out specific noises, having headphones helps me hear what I'm trying to hear better

When I was working in a job that I really loved I was taking work home working into the night and just couldn’t wait to be getting on with things. However, when I tried similar activity for myself, ie hobbies I always found it difficult to get motivated…. Now thanks to a huge of amount of job switches mainly due to me getting into trouble because of triggers at work… I find I’m unemployed at age 59 too young to get my pension I’m in debt and very depressed,… I can think of ideas were maybe I could work for myself …. Some NT people jn. My situation would work their arse off to follow up in the ideas… unless someone can make me accountable, ie manage me and my tasks I need to carry out to develop a possible self employment / income, I just can’t get myself motivated.

When someone indirectly is saying something that you are going through, but are talking about someone else and being negative about it. But you feel they are indirectly talking about you. Is that the same thing?

Dealing with all that right now. 16yo boy, almost 17. Practically impossible to get any mental health help. They just say, when he is 17 he will be punished as an adult. Why won’t they punish him at 16. Heartbreaking. He has run away 8 times in 5 months. Not against the law. 3 therapists, I can’t help him, probation, can’t do anything, in home therapy, can’t do anything. So, he is out on the streets tonight. Comes from a good loving home and family. Also, in his third year of HS, and Third HS , because he gets kicked out of them. Also, IQ above 120. Wish we could get help😢

My ADHD family member never initiates anything. I have to call them. They never make a choice or commit to anything. If I ask which of two things they'd like, they can't decide. I can 99.99% guarantee that if I ask them to do something, they will forget. When we go do something enjoyable, they find a way or reason to get stressed and ruin it. Your average person needs a relationship where they give and get at least some benefit from having it. Since I always felt like an alien freak around people my entire life, I suppose I never had an average or normal relationship. I can cut a fellow weirdo a little slack when it comes to some things.

I keep having to look up what this is, not because I've forgotten, but because so many people think it's a good label and they use it in ways that are so wrong, even to the point of making it meaningless, I even saw one video that was 25+ minutes long, but I didn't watch it. Then, about a week ago, I was looking for examples instead of definitions and I found a few good ones, but also so many that were bad that I gave up, I think there were around 2 in every 25. Here I am today, and looking at totally different topics while I do my laundry and this video pops up, thanks so much for making it easy to understand! ❤

My husband was diagnosed with ADHD in 2020.We've been married for 25 years. On the one hand it was a relief having an explanation for why, despite repeated conversations (& heated arguments) during our marriage, the same issues kept popping up again and again. I am now having to accept the reality of this in our lives forever, and this has been a challenge. I am suffering from anxiety and hyper-vigilance as a result of having to over-compensate for the past 25 years. Plus he has his full life of habits and ways of operating that don't magically go away as a result of the diagnosis or the medication. So despite having an explanation through the diagnosis, I am struggling with what this means for us, and at times I feel fearful that I don't have the capacity to deal with, or endure this, for the rest of our lives.

Wow thank you for sharing, I've been with my husband for over 10yrs married for almost 3 yrs and I'm just finding out about his diagnoses due to my son being diagnosed. It has been such a rollercoaster and I am feeling resentful and angry. I thought I would feel better about it with time but it just has made me grow inpatient with the situation cause I'm realizing being hopeful for change is just being glutten for punishment.
@zuejayt70612 ай бұрын
Hi, I am in the exactly same shoes as you. Married almost 20 years with lots of frustrations and I always felt lonely and struggle with a lot of resentment towards him. He is a happy go lucky and high functioning person. He does well in his career and always don't understand why I am so angry and sad. He couldn't take perspective and always distracted in conversations. I found out that he might have an issue and realised it's ADHD! I was tired and burnt out after this discovery. It's like I have through a dark tunnel for a long time to struggle to survive. Finally found out that he had ADHD and I see light. I am happy and feel I can live. BUT emotionally, I am tired and have spousal burnout. I need help to navigate this "new" revelation. I want to see a clinical psychologist to help me manage my emotions and walk with me in this new journey.

@zuejayt7061 I started searching on KZbin for some motivational tidying videos to sort out my piles on stuff I have around the house and unfinished jobs and projects etc. So I really connected with a video that had within the title ADHD, like every point felt like I could personally tick it off. Anyway not I'm curious about this and my wife of 10 years and known me since I was 16. She's been more and more convinced I could have (I forgot the word, not dyslexia, the one where, I'll add it in another comment, anyway not adhd.) So we've been loosely saying this for a while and your comments about your husbands having adhd is interesting because I feel a bit scared to be diagnosed if there is anything. We have 4 kids and it's really hard to deal with everything, my wife is a superhero and I feel bad that it takes me so long to do things she can do so fast. I feel like I'm juggling a lot all the time but I couldn't handle any of the daily and planning duties. I understand its frustrating for her and don't want to have her feel what you mentioned above. I just want her to be happy and to be the best husband and dad i can be (the last bit makes me well up).😢 It's not all about me, I can't help but feel like I'm not quite hitting the bar all the time, for them.

Indeed, it took me exactly 5 years to fix a detrimental mistake in my work. It done and dusted now, it took me no more than 4 hours. There was no reward though, but the poeple were finally done with my work and told me it needs help. It was boring, but I discovered the power of AI which is like a breath of fresh air for my brain. AI can do all the clutter work and mental effort while I can focus on being creative.

Yes a stable mate who likes to the muck cart full of poop for me to empty. I’ve confronted her already in nicest way but she still does it from time to time so the last time she did it, I took a picture of a muck cart that she left me to dump and posted it on group chat and simple stated inappropriate. If teeth could fly through the phone, I would’ve been pierced all over.😂 guess , I hit a sore spot. Now I just keep her at a distance, keeping the equilibrium between peace and mental safety homeostasis.
