These two guitarists does neither Art for the sake of art, nor of Art against art but for Art which has nothing to do with art, because the Art has everything to do with human existence 🙂👌🤠

John was at his best with Gary. Both a foil to each other. A miraculous intensity.

OMG, I can hear so many later groups coming from these two guys. A little bit here, another there. Oh to have been a musician at this show and perhaps heard the beginnings of sounds that later groups expanded on.

Bob has turned this song into a masterpiece as this song progresses. I witnessed it as just a baby in the GD's late years. With D&C it moved forward. Particularly at the Folsom Field shows in '18 and '19. With the advent of the performances of Bobby/Wolf Bros particularly at the Symphony shows he's done thus far, it's a tear-jerker. This song has become one of the finest songs performed in the repertoire. I'm blown away by the intensity it presents each and every time I see/experience it.

John Cippolino, Greg Douglass, Les Liszama, Greg Elmore and yours truly around 1988? It was either live at the Chi Chi Club on Broadway in SF…or a live show we did in Portland, Oregon.

Heearts of Space was such a great radio show. Music like this was the reason why. The host did a fantastic job with every show with his playlist.

I had the privilege to be kicked out of the Pier Club for "dirty dancing" to Jack the Ripper, and later, the further privilege of hiring Link Wray and the Wraymen for a Delta Sigma Pi fraternity "Mixer" at Georgetown University.

It is 2024, I am 82 soon to be 83, and I was in high school when my date and I were kicked out and two or three years went by before the hire for the frat party.

Today, August 1, the start of the Days Between, and my annual observance and memorial of the music that's baked into my soul and part of my DNA. I have so much to say, but I think I'll just listen to the music play. And cry my eyes out. Again.

Always been a Matt Kelly fan. I do this song and it is a true gem. Bobby let this one smoke out with Rob Wasserman catching the wave on bass. A Willie Dixon/ Bob Weir song. It a tests to greatness.
