Nice short of this product.. haven't managed to find many vidoes of this yet or the Bore version, how are you getting on with this one? And how is the coating holding up?

That’s really dope especially how old it is. Does it still work or has it been aged by life?

Where can we buy these from
@UKsurvivalandbushcrafttips9 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment, There's a link in the Description to lifesavers site , they are expensive but when you compare it to buying 20,000 litres of bottles drinking water it's pennies per litre .

is it that simple? arent flitration systems super expensive?
@UKsurvivalandbushcrafttips9 ай бұрын
Yes it is a very simple system to use and maintain , its difficult to cover everything in a short format including Pros and cons ,The big one for many is the upfront cost as yes it is an expensive system but when you break it down over the 20,000 litres of super safe clean filtered drinking water from a single filter cartridge it is far cheaper than you could buy in bottled water form . Potential usage is the consideration here if you were Overlanding or doing an expedition or living off grid it's a Fantastic solution to achieving safe drinking water from any source no matter how questionable. Lifesaver filters are used by the military all over the world and that's a testament to how good they are . Thanks for your comment have a happy New Year 👍

Yes I'd of taken a polished finish myself over it as the coating will definitely look tatty once it starts getting used but the Bushtool range of this model is only available with the Black traction coating but i can live with it ,I suppose once it's too worn I can always put a polished surface on it myself ,Thanks for your comment Happy new year to you .

The Bushcraft Store UK , Its one of their own line up . I can stand by the quality of the knives they make as I've used my TBS Boar I got off them for nearly 10 years and it's still in great condition.

440C is one of the cheapest stainless steels on the market, and is relatively garbage at holding an edge. Combined with how small it is, Walther has made a nearly useless hatchet
@UKsurvivalandbushcrafttips9 ай бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment , agreed whole heartedly 440c is not ideal but I think for the market and type of use its aimed for which will not necessarily be the type of person that will want to clean and oil a 1060 bladed axe after every use it serves its purpose , I believe is aimed as a bugout or very occasional use camp bag tool where size and weight may factor in . Don't worry I will push it in the field test and be brutally honest ,none of my vids are sponsored.

As an axe goes yes of course its not going to function as a primary chopping tool But take into account the UK knife laws and it becomes a different ball game . If you chuck it in a back pack to baton firewood it will serve that purpose no problem. A 7cm blade non locking folding knife has its limits . You would fair better explaining to a UK officer of the law as to why you are carrying this in a bag in the woods compared to a fix bladed 4 or 5 inch knife for sure,Which would always hands down be a better item to carry . It's fine for what it is , I believe which is a bugout bag tool or occasional camp tool where space and weight are a big factor , its definitely not a go to axe for chopping or processing and I don't believe it's marketed as that . It's hard in a short to cover potential uses and its downfalls but I appreciate you taking the time to watch and you comment ,cheers 👍

Youve inspired me to do this with my spare gas bottle. Is there another way of air inlet other than that paint sprayer? Can it naturallly aspirate...?
@UKsurvivalandbushcrafttips9 ай бұрын
Great to hear ! Sure! foot bellows , hair dryer there are loads of ways you can feed the air in 👍 I will be making some traditional hand bellows soon so it's totally off grid usable so keep an eye out .

Genuine question, did you buy a Viking helmet and shield just for this bit?😂
@UKsurvivalandbushcrafttips9 ай бұрын
Is is the kind of thing I'd do for sure 🤣 I made the shield a long time ago for a project I was doing. I made the axe years ago and the helmet came from a museum in Denmark I visited getting on for 10 years ago as did the fire steel used in the video . I absolutely love Viking history and Norse mythology 😁
