When the mother said "People give their kidney to complete strangers" the only thing in my mind was "Right, but they get to choose to do that".

The daughter has no right to disobey her mother. This movie would have been much shorter if every time the girl didn't want to donate something, the mother slapped her until she came about 😊

Funny how, per her mother, she's simultaneously too young to say no but yet mature enough to say yes. Manipulative much?

Wouldn't go to the length of having a child to sacrifice them to save another child, no matter how hard it is to lose a child

One thing some people have mistaken is the mother's side. Some people said that she isn't the bad guy because she's a mom and she doesn't want her kid to die. Are we going to forget Anna was only born to donate her organs? Oh yeah, I forgot she's not the one suffering. It's Kate. But seriously, both are suffering. One is suffering from an illness, and the other is suffering of being a puppet.
@mikumiku38974 ай бұрын
True, wanting to save her child doesn't mean she isn't the bad guy and a bad mother

She doesn't care about any of her daughter's one's being raised like a pig for slaughter, and the other lives in pain every day and just wants it to end. I feel for all three children. The brother can't do anything and it's hurting hime.

A lot of hate for the Mom, and rightfully so, but this is a golden example of the road to hell being paved with good intentions. No individual step along the path was evil, at no point did she say out loud: "This daughter is spare parts for that daughter." You can see her start to put that together over the course of the case. And I get it... there really is no limit to what I would do to save my daughter in this situation. But she'd forgotten whose fight it was. Every day was just about whatever it took to survive to the next, and when you are always and only focused on Survival you forget to think about life. I've seen a lot of people walk that path, and every one of them finally needed someone else to stand up to them and say; "That's enough." So it's okay to hate on her... just don't forget how easy it would be to BECOME her. We often talk about how dangerous a Mama Bear can be. This is the dark side of that.

In the book Kate lives and Anna dies.
@Dee044207 ай бұрын
The moms abusive she may not be hitting or neglecting but she's still abusive, you don't have another child for spare parts for the one who's dying. And if Kate wants to die then let her (I know that sounds harsh but I believe someone who is terminally ill should have the right to decide if they want treatment and to keep living it's not the parents choice), she was suffering and didn't want to hang on and suffer even more and that's okay what's not okay is a parent forcing their child to live and creating another child to help the first live longer.
