Finally found this video to know how to replace that tiny valve, super simple knowing the floss trick. This video should really be combined with the how to clean video, and include instructions to clean the cap itself by pinching (which is shown on the website but doesn't seem to be in any of the videos as far as I can see?)

8yrs old this video is and I have NEVER had or seen a dishwasher with a "Top Rack" like that. Also these lids are just NASTY! poor design when it comes to cleaning.

Was looking for a cleaning video to send a friend and it can't be this one because the spout is where the majority of grime buildup and bad smells and tastes occur and cleaning it is not even covered here. Remove the spout by opening it, pinching the base with your fingers and pulling out. It's one of those things that can seem difficult at first but once you have the hang of it becomes super easy. Use a reusable straw cleaning brush with warm soapy water to clean the inside of the silicone spout and both the bottom and top of the plastic portion of the spout. Go around in a circle to clean the top plastic portion. I often disassemble hand wash to remove grime then throw it in the dishwasher anyways to sanitize. I use my bottle daily and find myself removing and cleaning the spout about monthly because otherwise gunk which I think is from dead skin cells, starts building up.

Why do I feel like the guy putting the gasket on took a long time and they had to edit it? I came here to see how it's done after struggling for way too long with mine. Getting the silicone straw out is not anywhere that easy. Plus they tear easily. Regardless I have two of these models and use them all the time.

I’ve had my kleen kanteen bottle for over 5 years and had a few other brands along the way. The bottle from Klean kanteen has been the best in quality and the build is so well thought out, from the ease in cleaning and durability. The bottle I have has a top that protects the mouth area from the external environment so I don’t have to worry about being clean when I drink bc it’s always covered. This company is so underrated. I’ve been really pleased by the product and was looking to expand and glad I saw that they had the stainless steel food storage. Sometimes there aren’t any microwaves or fridges around so these insulated containers will probably help solve the dilemma.

I never put plastic in the dishwasher, even if a product is dishwasher safe. Especially any kind of lid or cap. I feel like the dishwasher degrades it over time. For a deeper clean I rather soak in vinegar and give it a good scrub with some and water.

Where can I buy that blue color?

I hate this cup so much. I have many cups that have lids that are one piece, do not leak, do not smell...do not have to disassemble and put together a puzzle every time I have to clean it.

Contigo is very similar with the opposite of the flat side of the gasket must go against the rim of the mug or service, the groove side no-go. The groove side must actually go up away from the mug when the lid is in the tight position. Also if you notice a leak in😂 any of these mug are thermoses with gaskets, it's quite possible the gasket was peeled from inside the lid as it may have stuck a little bit to the rim just enough to cause it to fall into the drink so to speak. That's right, look for your gasket at the bottom of the mug! It's probably there!

The interior couldn't be cleaned good enough and it'll smell like rotten material, your saliva carries bacteria and bacteria goes inside the area's that you can't reach to clean. I replaced mine with the screw on stainless steel/bamboo. I got it from the Goodwill store for $1 dollar.

Is there a trick for how to open it after it has had hot food in it?

pure lies at 0:22. basically impossible for me to remove/replace the silicone tip. tore it apart in two separate places upon first cleaning!

I bought this type in 2019 and use normaly, never fall down, clean as the instruction but now it losts its insulation function. the outer body is getting hot when i pour hot water. any advice?
