Thanks for posting. I love this Maniacs period. And those Joy Division covers (LWTUA is missing) are quite sensible & interesting.

This is nice to see them playing live, but if I'm not there in person, I'd much rather listen to the studio version.

Leigh sure didn't last long. What happened? You announced that the new lineup was working on a new album together. Now you make it sound like she was always planned to be a short-term, temporary lead singer.

Leigh left because Sixpence got back together I believe.

Wow, amazing songs and just like in the earlier comment you can hear the influence of John Lombardo in the early Maniacs works Amazing recording and thanks for sharing it! I just don't understand how Natalie said over and over that she was not happy about the artistic direction that the Maniacs were taking as the sound changed overtime From "Secrets of I Ching" to "Blind's man zoo" to "Our time in Eden" it's a different sound and this early sound can not be found anymore in the last records of the band, it changed completely Natalie had the musical direction of the band and that can't be seen in the credits of the albums Guess she wanted the whole spotlight for herself?

What an interesting piece of history. I guess this is after she left 10,000 Maniacs but before she started working publicly with solo stuff. It’s nice to see her work with Mary Ramsey. Amanda Kramer to me is an extremely underrated musician and she helped shape my piano playing just by studying her performances. What a special acoustic version of Because The Night. I love the piano playing the opening riff an octave lower to blend better with the viola. Little things like that are so fascinating to me.
