SINCE2551 yaa...i have the same doubt. would the shuttle get sliced when u do that ?

It’s proper pronation technique. They hit it flat and follow through that way

If you don't follow through properly to follow the momentum of the racket you might get injured in your elbow and shoulder.

That technique adds more spin to the shuttle, and the racket remains flat before and after to reduce air resistance ,and it happens naturally after hitting a shuttle

@@martincstee5335what do you mean by follow through..like they do in the vid or another technique of follow through

i see some of them using panhandle grip rather than a normal basic grip when smashing, does it make the smash stronger?

Wei Jie they only do it from the midcourt after a drive rally mostly

Well it just depends on the time, postion and requirement, and its not a smash, just pronation

Ace James dont kick it too strong. If you kick it to strong your body will not stable.Try use ur body to add momentum in ur smash.Jump, lift your leg abit, and then when u jump and use ur all power. The body will automatically follow through.

when i trained in my badminton school team for 11 year olds, we had to do at least 100 jumps for one of our warm up exercises. it made my jump much better than most the basketballers in my school

bend your knees to add body momentum, overcome your fear of not landing balls of your feet on time. Stay relax 😂

1:05 and 1:46 LYD isn't holding the racket at the bottom. That's maybe 1 reason why his smashes are a bit slower compared to the other 3.

+Daniel Commins It's probably because he's normally at the front of the attacking formation and Yoo Yeon Seong generally is the one smashing.
