I just thinks its a stupid/inefficient move to stop and absorb more damage than necessary when it wastes time escaping and transitioning just to show the slaps aren’t damaging enough to finish him😒 luckily his opponent was willing to indulge this behaviour. Only positive criticism from this is it’s “spectacular” or “dramatic” unlike the great Mighty Mouse… I dunno if entertainment or skill trumps to the average spectator

I ended up in this position today. I just tapped early. Any advice on the safest defense? Not some roll because I see people not feel the damage until they finish the roll. I've never been a fan of hitchiker for armbar, or rolling kickout for leg locks.

Safest defense is to tap early. There's a point of no return when they get the right grips especially at this level.
