Combat Jiu Jitsu is a much better evolution of Gracie style Jiu Jitsu than what I'll call 'modern combat submission wrestling'. Not that pure submission fighting is bad, it's obviously very technical, but it veers away from 'fighting' or 'combat' in a way that was really core to what the Gracie's brought to the Martial Arts back in the 90s.

Change the slaps to punches and elbows, the fight would have ended long ago...

That's the thing with no point and just submission only rules. The Brazilian was in control of the match and making a submission attempts after attempts. She would have been scoring points after points after points. It's almost it's like the extra skills is negated. Somebody less skillful can win at the end due to being able to escape faster and that's it.

I just thinks its a stupid/inefficient move to stop and absorb more damage than necessary when it wastes time escaping and transitioning just to show the slaps aren’t damaging enough to finish him😒 luckily his opponent was willing to indulge this behaviour.
