Which pannier racks are those man? Like them not being symmetric and super wide as a result. Appreciate it, Sick build!

For this what you did you should go to jail. Frame should be fix by professional or replace with new one

On the right side, i think that "scratch" on the frame is actually a stress crack from when the frame bent. Its right above the weld which is a likely spot considering that bottom tube is transferring all the load from the top trellis.
@Lexcampbellza19 күн бұрын
@@pauliewalnuts240 No it was caused by the clamp that holds the crash bar to the frame, it slid all the way down the tube when it was hit and smashed into the joint at the bottom damaging the paint most of the way down

Great project . That frame repair is illegal here in Norway. It would require a complete jig test and frame swap to be street legal.

Welding that frame with not even disconnecting the electronics 🙄...then I wonder how the backside oft that tube got welded! At least the whole process was documented so that future buyers are informed, and the VIN should be published! The frame should have been stripped completely then put on a jig, measured before any repair attempt! In most countries such a repair renders the bike illegal for street use. A big warning sign is that the bent tube sits on the opposite side of the impact! The bike goes easily 150 mph, built for rough terrain!
@LexcampbellzaАй бұрын
Don’t worry it will still do 150 over rough terrain ;-) - will be showing this in an upcoming video

That will be a crunch spot, what you should have done is put a smaller diameter bar, slot that inside the original tube, then weld, other option would have been too cut off the small peace that attaches to the steering head put one full peace in, still installing a smaller diameter bar inside the tube, no way would I trust what you have done.
@LexcampbellzaАй бұрын
You are probably right on the smaller tube on the inside, it was a thought, but was very hard to find. However the replacement tube has a slightly smaller ID than stock so it would definitely be stronger, it’s just up to the weld not cracking and having good penetration. Time will tell

It’s a little cooked for sure 😂 but i think we made a fair repair, check new video - but in all fairness will probably replace it before ever selling the bike to someone else

Guys, a brand new frame with original numbers straight from ktm is like a 1000 euro (no idea in rand) Why would you not consider that? I rebuild a 1290 superduke like this. With a bend frame.
@LexcampbellzaАй бұрын
It was a little more pricey here (about 3x) buuut I was also very confident I could fix it, and if not, will order the new replacement - you’ll see the fix in ep2 :-) ps, love your enduro vids
@nivero5038Ай бұрын
@@Lexcampbellza 3x the price. That does not make sence. That I get your way of working. However, Maybe take it to a Guy with straithening benches. 1 mm out and it is going to affect the handeling big Time.
