Beautiful farm. Was that stone walled barn built by the Pa Dutch? I grew up in western Pa and my high school sweetheart turned Wife lived on a farm. The barn was built by the Dutch and had stone walls like that and giant post and peg beams. It is over 150 years old and still solid as ever. We re roofed it once and resided it once then totally revamped the farmhouse. Of course my father in law made me work to date his Daughter and took full advantage of my help. It was cool though because he taught me so much over the years that it molded my entire future and career/lifestyle. I think kids that grow up on farms learn so many amazing values and skills that truly set them apart from the rest of society. My Wife and I moved away from Pa back in 99 to seek work down south in N Ga Appalachians. Same type of people, same mountain range just don’t have all the drugs , snow and maniacs like we had up there after the steel mills shut down. We had to get our Daughters away from the crime that was encroaching all around us. We took our values with us and raised some amazing Daughters and adopted a few more along the way. I’m thinking about possibly moving back there one day as cancer stole my Wife from me this year and I’ve been pretty lost and busted up as a result. I’m just not sure what I want to do but I definitely need some kind of change. My Grandkids are here so I may stay put but I have a few properties I may sell off and get myself a mini farm. I’m only 53 and still feel like I’m 20 so I got plenty of good years left to work a small farm. Just need to be patient and pray for the Lord to send some things my way. One of my Daughters wants to take me to the western balkans to visit my closest relatives as well as northern Germanic region. I told her I might like it so much that I might stay there…lol.

Nothing like a working farm! I spent the last 4 days in the woods, we got about a foot of snow here. The woods are healing for the soul! The ash bug was not all bad. It allows for growth of other hardwood, and the ash wood burns so nicely in the woods stove. Some ash trees did make it through the swarm, which I believe is over now.

You always have the best music. Another channel I watch I always have to click off because the music is whiny. I smiled at your little one driving. I miss the the smell of our old wood burning fireplace we had growing up. That and dad's cherry tobacco pipe. Love that the kids are involved in the kitchen!! I helped our mom while I was growing up. Yum! I love beef stew! My hubby likes his beef stew with a warm biscuit. We had buttered bread growing up. Oh my gosh she's talking!!! How fun for the whole family!
