i just came here after seeing a donkey get shredded by a slow moving train..The train was honking for nearly 30 seconds and that donkey stood in the middle of the track just looking at the train...They are very slow in the mental department.

Walked past a house last year that had a donkey. They owners were pulling in the driveway and the donkey was losing his mind with joy. He was so loud and excited.

I would imagine Mayans were probably cutting trees for constructing a shelter or something like that and notice the sap. I'm sure they tried eating and drinking most everything around them. Probably also tried cooking and boiling most things. Trial and error just eventually leads to these discoveries.
