He was easily the best I have ever seen. He doesn’t change teams and to me that is a really big deal.

For those who don't know, this man was run at more times than a sale at an Army & Navy store, his knees had a bulls eye on them from day one of his career till the end, only a handful of defencemen ever lived up to and could be talked about in the same sentence as Orr

I randomly picked the Devils in NHL 2K4 and fell in love with hockey because of how insane Brodeur was in the game. Started playing real hockey soon after and never looked back.

It's absolutely mind-blowing when you look at Lemieux's stats. The fact that he's sitting among legends in the top 10 all-time points list (1,723 points) while playing just 915 games is just insane. Everyone else in that elite company - Gretzky, Howe, Jagr, Messier - all played well over 1,400 games. And let's remember he did this while battling cancer and chronic back issues throughout his career. Imagine what his numbers would've been with a full, healthy career. Le Magnifique was truly a different breed - the combination of size, skill, and scoring touch we may never see again. Beast mode doesn't even begin to describe it.

NHL reactive not proactive to the original incident, wait and see what happens approach, well payback was due and delivered, players piled on top of a down and out player probably caused the injury to Moore,i don't completely blame Bertuzzi.Naslund was a victim also and no apologies were given to him from Moore for the cheapshot hit that started all this.Weisel Bettman should of been kicked out of the league for being incompetent.End of story.

He was so good he bankrupt a hockey based on his salary, what makes him even better he kept the Penguins in Pittsburgh by taking ownership of the team. His points dont matter his character does. Without him Pittsburgh would not have a team in the NHL!

I always forget he missed his rookie season and how that impacts the chase for goals record. I know the year after the lockout scoring went up after rule changes, and at that age Ovi was probably getting bigger and stronger every time he hit the weight room. We could conservatively guessed he would have had 30-35 goals added to his monster total(leading goal scorers year before lockout in dead puck era were Iginla, Kovalchuk, and Nash at 41 goals each).

2:53 there is no debate on the Sid vs Ovi debate. The only thing Alex does ‘better’ than Sid is score goals. But how many are on the powerplay? Lol 1 cup and no Olympic medals is all you need to know about how Alex ‘helps’ his team win. (3 cups and 2 gold medals for Sid) The latest stat to prove Sid is miles above Ovi; Crosby hit 1600pts first and has played 240games less than Alex. Enough of this talk about a debate. Sid has always been better. From their 2nd and 3rd years in the league when Sid made the finals and then won his 1st cup the next year 🤫

Ironic because it’s Ovechkin’s team that won 3 presidents trophies, how could that be possible if he doesn’t help his team to win? “That’s the regular season, who cares. what about when it matters most?” Sure but if you seriously believe Crosby was the difference maker H2H against Ovechkin in the playoffs you’re delusional. 2016 for example, penguins won the series 4-2 yet Crosby had 2 assist and was -3 😂 and Ovechkin had 7 points and was +3… not to mention 31 hits compared to crosby’s 11, something unique about the nhl is wearing down your opponents as the series goes on, this is almost non-existent in crosbys game. Nevermind the fact that Crosby wasn’t even the best player on his team in 09, and I’d argue Crosby shouldn’t have won another of his conn smythes. Ovechkin leads basically every metric H2H in the playoffs against Crosby except for games won.

Heres a tough concept for armchair dwellers that never stepped foot on ice to understand, but Gretz was the Goat of his era without question or argument, and his Oilers team (who i believe had FIVE future HOFers) would get mud stomped by the last place AHL team today. The game evolved beyond him. What he did for the game was unmatched prior and beyond until Crosby came along and now holds that GOAT title of this era and Gretz even said it himself, Sid is the best player he has ever seen.

Best hockey player who ever lived. I grew up watching him beat the snot out of my Rangers, year after year. He was the best player on the ice every single night. He would be the best player on the ice in today’s game, as well. In fact, with the new rules he’d be even better, if that’s even possible. There’s Bobby Orr and there’s everyone else… ☝️

He's the most skilled player ever, and it's not even close. Notice I didn't say he's the best ever, that will always be Gretz. But skill for skill, Connor would embarrass Wayne. Now obviously the time they played is a massive factor, but sadly it's impossible to judge them outside their time.
