Pike usually calls Grog "Buddies" -- maybe just because of how big he is. The more the show goes on, the more she calls him that. I've heard it's a reference to a Key & Peele sketch, but I couldn't find it to confirm. Did you notice that Garmelie was voiced by Billy Boyd (Pippin from LoTR)? Trinket was Cheech. If you want to get your feet wet with Critical Role, "Exandria Unlimited: Calamity" is worth watching, and it's comparitively short for them (only 25 hours). Since Christmas is coming up, they did a great one-shot called "The Night Before Critmas". I saw that they had a Session 0 for another Christmas thing happening soon. This is Dungeons & Dragons -- there ain't no Plot Armor. As you will find out during this season, shit could happen at any moment in time. Until this point in the game, Vox Machina faced everything Mercer threw at them with a smile. They found out that they needed to roll over 20 to hit the dragons...run or die.

Tim repeatedly said Tommy wasn’t lasting. Oliver had no interest in the relationship beyond it furthering Bucks sexuality arc. It was mostly absent from the screen unless required. It was treated exactly the same way as his relationships with women, as it should be. Tommy was never going to be anything more than a temp guest star and they made that clear. It’s fine to be disappointed if you like him (for reasons I don’t get) but you were told by the people on the show and the writing itself.

@leah_tpwk75522 ай бұрын
Quite shocked you didn't like the episode tbh, especially since this one was a fan fav. But to be fair i think alot of us were just happy to get rid of Tommy lol. Personally, i think the breakup came at a good time. Tommy was there to progress Buck's story and help him realise his bisexuality. Beyond that there wasn't any indication that it would be a longterm or endgame relationship, and in both this and the last episode they continiously hinted that they don't actually know eachother. Like last episode when they made it a point that tommy wasn't included in the groupchat, to me that was very much saying he hasn't become intergrated into buck's life. But now that he has served his purpose in Bucks story, it was time to let him go and let buck move on. Also the whole abby story line had been predicted for so long so i was shocked to see them actually go with it. If you go back to the first episode abby does mention that her ex was called Tommy, and her mother even mistook Buck for Tommy which is quite funny now. I also loved the progression of Eddies story this episode. His confessional scene at the start broke me, and I think the priest was completely right and i was so glad to see eddie finally think of his own happiness for a change. And the dance scene at the end has to be top show moment for me cause WTF lol. Also another madney baby!!!!!! Very excited. All in all i loved this episode, so im sorry you didn't. Hope you enjoy ep 7 a little more. (Also sorry for the long post lol).

They were never going to last and it's been evident since season 7 and even more so in season 8. Their lack of compatibility, their lack of shared interest and the fact that Tommy still didn't know much about Buck 6 months into their relationship (He didn't know who Athena was and gifted Buck basketball tickets) His existence was mostly to parallel Eddie.... with Tommy's last episode pointing out that he was a closeted gay man who was engaged to a woman.

Surprised no one else said it first but that was the show’s intro to No Mercy Percy. The lines of dialogue from Percy’s VA (taken directly from the table game play) and the smoke and mask all put together equal this nick name. The Briarwoods just came to the feast because they didn’t want the Sovereign to send anyone else to Whitestone so they came to “convince” him not to. That is why Sylas influenced him. Fun fact, Khary Payton was actually a guest player in Critical Role's 2nd campaign. Before they started streaming, Percy was a "gunslinger" which is a fighter subclass in the Pathfinder RPG. Good catch on Krieg being the dragon! Just a couple of quick explanations of things thrown in for fans of the Critical Role actual play: 1. Tusk Love is a smut book that one of the characters in Campaign 2 (which is being turned into the Might Nein tv show) was a big fan of. 2. Grog's intelligence (which is a 6, by the way) is roleplayed as higher in combat than in other situations. His player would always start a fight by saying "I would like to rage" and it basically has become his catchphrase. 3. This is where the story really begins. The first two episodes were pre-stream, and serve as the prologue to the series. Each episode from here on out just gets better and better!

Welcome aboard! They're already about level 9 from what I recall when this adventure begins, they were playing at home for quite a while before Critical Role started streaming, and this first episode or two condenses some of what happened before the stream that led into the main plots going forward. It's always super fun to see someone who does play TTRPG's but isn't familiar with Critical Role or Vox Machina precisely. If you want to see more of the pre-stream and pre-show adventures, there's a comic, "Vox Machina Origins" that's taking us through the VERY early stuff. (There's also prequel comics for the second campaign, the Mighty Nein, which is going to be another show on Prime in another year or two from what I understand and hope, they've got an animatic and such up on KZbin for it already.)

@@neintales1224 when I’m all caught up I’ll think of doing a supercut reaction to their Critical Role campaigns
@neintales12244 ай бұрын
@@RedhoodReacts fair warning, those campaigns are hundreds, even thousands of hours long, episodes are about 3 hours long. But there are the "Exandria Unlimited" shorter campaigns DM'd by Aabria Iyengar and Brennan Lee Mulligan of Dimension 20, a live play show that has episodes that are only about an hour long at a go. They are my other favorite D&D play show. Exandria Unlimited: Calamity is an ancient prequel to all the other CR campaigns and is considered by many to be one of the best short campaigns on the Internet entirely and I guarantee people would love a supercut reaction to that. There's desperate hopes by many of us Critters that Calamity might wind up a movie someday or something.
@neintales12244 ай бұрын
@@RedhoodReacts My phone apparently ate my first reply to this- apologies if it comes twice! But fair warning, the Critical Role live-play campaigns are literally hundreds, even thousands of hours long. Every CR episode is roughly 3 hours. Some go longer. So if you want to do it, it will take you months at least! There ARE a few one-shot games that take place after stuff that should be covered in LOVM that could have easier supercuts done to, and then there are the Exandria Unlimited short campaigns run by Dimension 20 (another D&D show) DMs Aabria Iyengar and Brennan Lee Mulligan. While those are still 3 hours long per episode, they're not years-long, and I guarantee a LOT of people would like to see supercut reactions to "EXU: Calamity" in particular, which is an ancient prequel game run by Brennan Lee Mulligan- so it doesn't really have 'spoilers' in it even if you watch it before all of LOVM comes out. (They're aiming for 5 seasons total I think I heard Sam say) There are also a number of comparison videos out there that show scenes from LOVM and compare them to what happened in the original games, which are fun and much shorter, and Critters seem to like to see people react to. If you want to get into doing some reactions to live-plays, while they aren't Critical Role, Dimension 20 is probably a good call because their episodes are only1 hour long, so won't take as long to watch a season/campaign of. Since you caught the LOTR references in Ep1 here, you might very much enjoy the "Escape from the Bloodkeep" mini-campaign on Dimension 20's channel, as it is a LOTR parody sort of game, seen from the evil side. It's hilarious, and Critical Role's DM, Matt Mercer, gets to play a character in it. I watch it a couple of times a year if I need some serious cheering up lol.
