Most investors who own storage cubicles do NOT WANT anyone living in them! There are many reasons for this, but right at the top is legal liability. You probably have to sign a promise that you will NOT live in it. If they catch you, it is likely you will have to vacate immediately, and your stuff will get sold or thrown out. Many owners hire people to routinely inspect them to see if there are any signs of occupancy. They may also have the legal right to go into it to verify. I rather doubt that the people who SAY they are doing it are telling the truth. Or if so, very surreptitiously for only a short time. Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

I've enjoyed watching your videos. when will the part 3 video be out? I have a 40 ft and a 45 ft both are former refer trailers and are will insulated and have been very easy to convert into tiny houses. We have placed our trailers beside each other 8ft apart and are going to build a deck between the two and across the front entry which gives plenty of room for entertaining guests.

Beautiful building. Thinking that a lot of office space that is under utilized and is perfect for addressing homelesness. Right now it is deemed (too) expensive to convert due to retrofitting plumbing. That reflects staid thinking. Could do a variation of what they do in NYC, and that is a bathroom down the hall. Typically this reflects a shared bathroom arrangement, but that is just more conventional thinking. In this instance it could be done to cluster plumbing. Alternatively they could have all the units the same so that plumbing lines up and lessens conversion costs that way. Homelessness is so pervasive that we are way past creating "the perfect apartment." We need affordability and designers and deve,opers need to readjust THEIR expectations...

Beautiful. It's a wonderful idea! Is it something that is in the works? Every time I pass a vacant motel, either urban or rural, I think it would be a perfect opportunity to be turned into something like this.

Painting it black in Florida eh? Like to live it up in the heat eh? lol Man, I live way further north and it gets so damn hot here I would have to have mine painted white just to help because it's already too damn hot.

They need to let people live in them. Some have bathrooms. The indoor ones that have temperature control. We could wipe out homelessness.

You got it setup so dumb. When I lived in one, I had it to where in 30 seconds I could make it look like a storage unit inside. Anyone gets suspicious of you or anything happened and it's blatantly obvious.

The parked car outside the door with a cover on it tells me that this is a garage in an apartment complex or condos. That and the facr that storage units do not have wall outlets let alone 3 of them.
@markanthony8074 ай бұрын
Some do. You need to broaden your thoughts. You are assuming every thing across the entire world is exactly like anything you have experienced. They call that ignorant.
@loadedrhino28644 ай бұрын
@markanthony807 Sir it's called a generalization. The world it built around generalization. The exception "some do" is about as ignorant as its gets. You cant build anything around an exception.

You vid title is in error. You mean BUILDING OUT A SIMI TRAILER. Made for much confusion. Wouldnt it have been cheaper & better to use an shipping container parked on the ground? Those tires will eventually go flat & the trailer will lean. PLUS, you will have stairs to climb. !

Can anyone please tell me the dimensions of this unit and how much he paid for it a month? Does he have 24/hour access to it?
@joyjones60555 ай бұрын
Its a 10x30 unit so a total of 300 sq ft. He paid $450 a month for the unit. He does not say if it is 24 hour. I would assume yes though because most non-24 hour places, you would run into the issue of them being closed and your unit unavailable on holidays.
