Welcome back! Spoilers: Wow your opponent was super unlucky this game. All the high corruption tiles and those combat rolls were bad more often then not. Very tricky playing but sometimes you fail to roll the hard six

Ira, thank you so much for these videos. Whenever I introduce this wonderful game to a new player and they argue that there is too much luck involved, I point them in your direction! It almost feels like there are three stages of development in this game. In your first plays you're not worried about the luck because you're blown away by the theme. Then you do start moaning about luck when a few crucial battles turn on an unlikely roll, then, at last, you've learned all the cards, become aware of the mitigation strategies and what is actually possible and then luck just becomes one other thing to deal with. Love this game! (And I am finally knuckling down to paint the minis. . .)

9/1/2 - how does it work? I thought the army can have at most 10 units, no?

Those three numbers are: Regular Units / Elite Units / Leadership. So 9/1/2 means 9 regulars, 1 elite, and 2 nazgul. Nazgul do not count toward the 10 unit limit! Neither does the witch-king, or mouth of sauron, or Saruman, or any of the companions or FP leaders!

Crazy that though merry attack was a risk it did induce the ring usage and secured the bad roll from next turn to remain bad 🤣

On turn 7 i would have separate strider crown aragorn (baiting DwoD) and attack out of MT to try killing WK, and depending on opponent either muster more there or move gandalf in

I think it definitely would have been better to use I Will Go Alone before attacking Lorien garrison; put someone there and Strider to Rohan; Dead Men keeps Pelargir safe (play on Lamedon if they move from DA), use C to move from MT to Osg if he moves from MM, and Lorien can wait another turn

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm not sure what you mean. I don't intend to be political, but I do want to refer to people however they choose. If someone tells me, "Please call me Bob," then I'll call them Bob. If someone says, "Please use 'she' when talking about me," then that's what I'll do. It's not a political statement; it's just respect for other people's wishes, as they play this fun game with me!

2 questions: I thought the spent hunt tiles are reshuffled into the game when fellowship make it to the mordor track? Also when moving with the fellowship, you place the free peoples action die in the hunt box after they have moved. Should the corruption then inflict before you add the free peoples die to the hunt box, when the shadow player draws an eye while fellowship is on the mordor track?

29:20 if playing the shadow is moving or using it army action to move the regular out of the DA to save all the Nazgûl, what would happen if you played through a day and night, thereby making the nog existence in a strong cold control by the free player not legal for them to remain there?

Why do you think WWSAT is optional. I am not seeing the reason why shadow would not want to have the free people play a card. The only thing I could think of is maybe not trigger it so that they use a character to play a character card to delay the fellowship?

Hello Champ! I wanna start with telling ya that I love Your videos - I've learned a lot from them and I really enjoy them! I have a one question though - can You please tell me what happens when Grima is in play and Rohan is attacked in Fords of Isen? Rohan is not activated but it is still moving down on political track right? I couldnt find information on that and I just realised I played it wrong for all that time :|

"towards" as in one step towards war but not actually reaching at war state :) Only for the last step do you have to be activated.

At 1:03:01 is it a legal move for the FPP to move the ring-bearers from Morannon to the Mordor track, even when the Ring-bearers are currently revealed? I always thought that the Ring-bearers needed for be Hidden in order to declare their next step - Just like when they declare anywhere outside of Mordor? Can someone clarify please?

That was true in the 1st edition ... they changed it in the 2nd (the reason was obviously to stop the whole 1 turn stall of the Fellowship) ... " To enter Mordor, it is now sufficient that the Ring-bearers are located in Minas Morgul or Morannon, without requirement of declaring the Fellowship. As a consequence, the Fellowship can enter Mordor even if it is not Hidden (see page 43)."
