I have a dumb question why would I want to pay them if I can just buy the same ETF allocation they just showed me on the screen? Is it because they will sell it for me too if there is a down turn?

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes....

@@Elliot-Ivan The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?

FYI- if you want to transfer funds from an existing IRA account to a Fundrise IRA account you have to use Millenniun Trust, their IRA custodian.

I been in Schwab’s robo advisor for over a year now. I just keep that balance at 25-27k and I move cash at times to my Schwab self directed account. I keep it for their free investment advice whenever I want it.

So if I do a Roth conversion in vanguard they will transfer say the 20 shares of VXUS to same 20 shares of VXUS into the ROTH account? What I mean is that vanguard won’t first sell the shares in the traditional Ira, then move the cash to Roth IRA? Great tutorial, I will use it at end of year when I do my first Roth conversion ever ☺️

I recently sold some property and have about 300K, I don't like the current interest the local bank is offering, .05%, so Wealthfront caught my eye and then I found you and I'm sold. Just wanted do let you know and get a wee bit of opinion on what you think. I have an investment portfolio with the bank and I think they've done well but I have always had this itch that maybe there are other good investment options I'm not aware of. Thanks, Regards, Bruce

You explain things super clear, very easy to understand. Quick question now, is all this towards “retirement”? Why everything is related to when you going to retire, how many years and how much will you need ?…. Isn’t there something like “I invested today and next month I made gains well I want to use it now and enjoy it as I want” ?????

I recently started using Vanguard Digital and I have to say that in terms of transparency and ease of use, it is much better than the others ones I looked at. I chose the all index option, comprised of 4 ETFs, which gives me very broad diversification. They provide you with a calculator so you can accurately determine your fees. Also, easy to withdraw from and easy to disenroll if you don't like it.

Buy SoFi stock before it takes off 100x in the next 10 years. SoFi is here to disrupt and defeat all ICE-age brick-and-mortar banks, just like how EVs are disrupting ICE-age cars. Buy SoFi before it takes off with consistent profit expansion, deposit expansion, investing account expansion, A.I. banking platform expansion, international expansion. SoFi is the future of A.I. banking, insurance, investing, credit cards, personal loans, financial instruments. I had only 500 shares @$5.85 before the earnings. I bought 500 shares more after the earnings at $8.85. I bought 2000 shares more today at $7.85. 3,000 shares. It should be 100x in the next 10 years. It reminds me of buying Amazon in 2001, Tesla in 2014, Shopify in 2016. Love it. Buying disruptive companies is a great feeling.

That’s a very good tutorial so thank you. I have a vanguard 401k and was planning on converting to a tax free traditional IRA upon retirement age 58. My tax bracket would be lowered at retirement and I was thinking of converting a set amount of that pre tax IRA to an after tax Roth IRA each year therefore staying under a lower tax bracket still. Does this sound feasible? 12% tax bracket> retirement benefit of 60k and 30k Roth conversion to after tax. Thank you

I used them for 4 years but got out last December. The returns averaged 1/2-1/4 of any index. We're 68 and been retired for 7 years, i can afford higher risk and these seem to offer low rewards without being low risk. For example in the 20 ETF's they put in our portfolio there were a couple of emerging markets funds, high yield bonds, MBS fund, and don't forget the large cash component earning 0.45% interest. I decided to go back to managing my own, but don't want to spend the time on individual stocks again. We put 80% in stock etf's, small cap US, US large cap dividend, US large cap growth and 20% in Money Markets and currently earning 5.22%. The good thing is money can now be moved on a daily basis if i want to, but I'm completely happy that my wife can just leave everything where it is if i kick the bucket early.

@@manvanross I stayed with Schwab, and even use their etf's. I reduced the number of funds from 20 to 4, plus we keep 3 years of withdrawals in a cd ladder and money market. We have 10% fundamental US small cap, 20% fundamental Global large cap, 20% US large cap dividend, 35% US large cap growth and 15% money market/CD's.

You skipped over the fact that the SoFi ETF is not the S&P 500 since it says "SoFi weights each company based on three key growth signals, not just market capitalization as many traditional indexed ETFs do." I would love to hear your thoughts on this point and also I'd like some info about how different from the S&P their companies are.

WARNING: Before they take any more victims. Sofi is absolutely by far the worst banking experience ive ever had. i just spent the last 4 hours talking with customer service trying to get my rewards for setting up direct deposits. only for them to give me excuse after excuse. contradicting themselves over and over again, and ultimuately wasting my time. Canceling my account now and give all of you a warning to not waste your time or mental sanity on them. its an endless circle and nothing will be resolved. they just want your money. I CANNOT BELIEVE Caleb is endorsing them...Lilia Garcia is the employee who could not help me with absolutely anything
