I had a young man that worked with me at a furniture store in Pennsylvania during the summers named Jason Winter . He was going to school in Arkansas I believe . He brought me some Trout Magnets back and gave them to me , I think it was 1997 or 98 . We caught tons of fish on your baits . When it comes to trout fishing I always have one tied on . I have numerous kits and I never go without them !

So I fish from the bank. Is the dead sticking technique still workable from the bank?
@lelandslures4 сағат бұрын
Yes, we just get that vertical presentation by fishing under a float if we are casting to structure.

"Doing what I love with a good buddy" what a genuine response. I wish i had people to fish with that didn't wanna leave after an hour. I'm out 4 hours minimum if time allows. Lol

Does this work in heavy current like a river bottom or a jetty?
@cyrus7210Ай бұрын
These things as simple as they are just flat out work. Not just trout either. I've caught bluegill,red eye, yellow perch, both crappies,large mouth, small mouth, spotted and striped bass. I've even got cat fish and a couple of carp, one that went about 8 lbs no less. That was on their SOS 2lb line too. One other effective way I rig is 2 jigs. I tie one on ( knot of choice is yours) with Palomer knot leaving 8 to 12 inch tag for the second one. Two different colors and you're set. Bobbers optional but they do come into play occasionally, you'll know when. Now go get some, tie 'em on and start catchin'. You know what the difference is between casting and catchin'? ......Trout Magnets... Magnets

The bluegill just tear the rear legs off my trout magnet after about 30 hits
@lelandsluresАй бұрын
If they short strike, you can trim a couple segments off the top which will move your hook point further back which should help with more hook ups.

I’ve seen a Lot of crappie kits with junk color s that don’t catch anything to just to catch fisherman,, this kit is the only honest comercial I’ve seen not selling junk colors , I guess Christian s don’t lie 😂 I’m going to church for the first time because of this vid , these colors are the truth.
@davemathis4215Ай бұрын
My buddy gave me 2 jigs from a guy that lives in tonitown ark, the first time I ever caught a brown ovet 24 inches on the white river , ever only caught many cookie cutter 18 inchers on jerk baits ,,,
@lelandslures13 күн бұрын
That's awesome! Jerk bait fishing can be a lot of fun but there's something special about that jig bite!
@davemathis421513 күн бұрын
@ you have to get the rhythm right and make sure you have the right weight for water flow the key is to get every weight size for different flow rates don’t get just one lol . If you use jerkbaits use em in Jan , Feb , early March to catch cookie cutter 18 inch but if you’re into 24 inch they know what that jerk bait is , best to go with the jig year round I don’t like catching an hours worth of cookie cutter s I want 24 inch Pluse I don’t even own a small net 😂 these are just my opinion s btw

What is the difference between the trout magnet kit and the pan fish magnet kit?? Only difference I see is the color .. my local dicks didn't have trout magnet kit so I bought the panfish magnet kit Will that work for trout?
@lelandsluresАй бұрын
Yes, however the hook in the Panfish kit has a longer shank than the original Trout Magnet jig head. The colors in the panfish kit are the ones we feel work best for panfish, but they also work well for trout.

Question about this! With wild trout here in CO, is neon or natrual colors better?
@lelandsluresАй бұрын
In stained water (runoff) the whites, neons, and blacks do very well, and in clear water we typically start with naturals. There are exceptions to every rule though so don't be afraid to mix it up. Last August we did great on the Taylor with a white and chartreuse. The water was crystal clear and relatively low.

We’re gonna need a bigger boat 😂 no greater words
@davemathis42152 ай бұрын
Really there’s only about 3 colors that actually work on most fish species including trout , as they have a different color spectrum than humans , pink is the best color, and blue is what trout see the best thoes other colors are just marketing appeal geared to catch humans..😂 the only colors you need. _ black and gold, blue , French pearl or shad , are the only colors you need as all those wierd color the trout see as just a different shade as the colors mentioned above because guess what they see completely different than we humans…

Nice! What are you guys referring to with the generator reference?
@lelandslures29 күн бұрын
When we say "generator" we are referring to the Dale Hollow Dam. This means they are generating power from the dam so the water level on the Obey will start to rise very rapidly and the current will get very swift.

When using a braid main line to two pound flourocarbon leader, do you have your drag set so low that you strip drag on the snap? I am having issues breaking off on a bite with light line. I might be using too stiff of a rod with the braid??
@lelandslures29 күн бұрын
We personally do not use braid down to a 2lb leader. If we are using a braid to fluorocarbon it is typically around the 4lb range. A good thin diameter braid helps. We use 2lb mono with a 2lb fluorocarbon as well.
@nicholasfeltz7804 ай бұрын
