Did anyone mention that using 64 block with 63 head and 63 timing belt results in camshafts being out of normal marks half a tooth?

im getting ready to build my 4g64 with me evo 9 head so i have the mivic any tips on that?
@OctaneSlain10 ай бұрын
Depends. If you use a 4G64 belt the marks will be lined up. Evo 9 belt and you'll be close, but will need an adjustable cam gear to adjust the DOWEL on the cam gear to the timing mark on the valve cover.

That's enlightened me 👍🏽 I'm running a 4g64 block with 9 (mivec) head and wondered why my marks are slightly off. I had my first 4g64 apparently 900hp capable uprated head gasket fail shortly after running in and Dyno miles at only 650 crank hp, then the second failed after less than 50 miles!! I don't think anybody makes a good gasket from what I read and heard. AMS used to mod the STD gaskets and worked reliably from what I read but they stopped doing them in 2010 apparently??? I've since had Darton 85mm liners fitted into my 4g64 and currently running 8mr gasket which I have used in the past and they haven't failed me once in 15,000 hard miles.👌🏽 I have had a forged 96mm crank snap, a std 4g64 crank snap, a gudgeon pin snap, solid lifter snap, a cracked CNC big valve head, 14 gear boxes fail, cracked in half rear disc, 2 rs rear diffs fail, and 4 tranny box's fail along the way, but the oe 8mr gaskets have never let me down👌🏽

Tough luck to end the season. Sure it will come back stronger next year. Wonder how the vette would do on track, probably pretty good. Cool video liked the over lay with track view and in cabin view

Thanks Johnny, The evo may get one track day next year but not my focus (next season we will mostly be drifting). With the little driving I have done with the c5, I would imagine it would be a fantastic track car with stock power and a few mods.
