May I ask a question sir? I do a lot of small clearing around my farm, and some light grading, cleaning up fence lines, and such. Right now I have a 200 size excavator, and a 455G track loader. I love the loader, but it gets frustrating sometimes since it is so small. I am considering getting a 30k lb Dozer like a 700K or Komatsu D51PX. I can grade and smooth up pretty good with my track loader, but I have never run a Dozer. Sometimes I can’t get the excavator back in the woods to cut ATV trails so I clear with the loader to put in roads/trails like this. Do you think a Dozer in that size range would be good for clearing, or should I get a 953 loader?

I myself have not been on a track loader much but to be honest if I had a 200 hoe I’d team it up with a 700 an that’s about all you need We use our skid steer to jockey (move-carry) the brush to where we are burning to keep it clean and it’s faster but a dozer works as well Small brush and small trees they make short work of them as well Track loaders have their place an I’ve seen guys put brush tines on them and go to plowing but if you ain’t in the full time clearing work it’s hard to justify owning one I would think 🤔 Just my thoughts and opinion Hope it helps! Thanks for watching I do mostly TikTok stuff now just because it’s so much work to upload videos to utube anymore Thanks again! God bless!

@@kdexcavation4887 Thank you sir! I appreciate your advice. I notice some of the Cat dozers like the D6K2 and D5K2 have "slope assist" where the machine controls the blade to get a smooth slope for an inexperienced operator. It looks pretty nice. I would like to have that feature, but I don't need GPS for the small jobs I do. I assume Deere and Komatsu don't have that feature without getting GPS?

@@darthnatas953 you are very welcome! Deere has a system called smart grade .... my skid steer has some kind of on board stuff as well but i never use it .... the Cats have some on board reference features that i would like to have but would rarely use im sure .... we usually just jerk out the transit and lay down a couple passes an fill in the middle

I almost bought a 700j yesterday. 3k hours, it was a sweetheart. Kind of bummed I didn't get it. Seems like a lot more machine than the 650.
@kdexcavation4887
@kdexcavation4887 8 ай бұрын
The 700 is a great pusher really filled the gap between the 650 an 750 .... i will say they really stepped them up with the Ks ... the Hs an Js were still great machines they was just a lil closer to a 650 than a 750 where the Ks seemed to be a little closer to the 750 size .... they beefed up the C-frames an final drives (mostly im sure because they added power) .... but i would love to have a J model ! thanks for watching!

I read your comment for the last guy you replied to. I agree with the cat on the end. I can't seem to find utility bids but I see people doing them all over town any tips on where to find these bid lists ?
@kdexcavation4887
@kdexcavation4887 8 ай бұрын
We usually get the utilities due to doing the site an road work .... sometimes we will get non related utilities but not as often as when we do all the other development work ..... Customers seem to like the "one call they do it all" companies ..... I started this business with the mindset that i would do anything and everything to make it ..... I think what helps also is we have been operating for almost 17 years .... people know us and have seen us .... and typically know someone we have done work for ..... hope this helps my friend

Very welcome my friend .... I dont put out many videos here on the tube ..... mostly make TikToks now Check us out at "KD Excavation... We are also on facebook at KD Excavation and Dirtworks Co. located in Salt Rock WV " ..... If you mean tips for business as a whole? Dont buy too much at once .... one piece at a time and buy it only when you are renting one enough to pay the payments all year .... here winter is hard we dont do much of anything January and especially February .... Bid jobs in the middle .... try to out do your competition on quality of work not price ..... we get most of our work cause we put out the best product .... cant get both .... quality and cheap aint on the same shelf! Stay away from anyone who tries to argue you down on price .... just dont even bid it .... cause if they start the process out that way they end it that way .... they are hard to get ya money out of ...... Now if ya mean installing utilities .... Keep ya ditches flat and smooth as possible .... keep the dirt back away from the edges of your trench .... 12'' of separation between each utility .... keep trench water out of ya pipes .... when i install stick pipe i keep a cap or plug with me so dirt and water dont get in .... keeps rocks off your pipes they can rub and pinch and cause issues .... Shovel ya some dirt on your pipes every so often to keep them from moving while ya backfill .....

The tires in the rear of that backhoe do not fit that tractor frame. I would have went with wider tires. At least they would have looked better. Those are tucked up inside the fender they don't look right. The tire should be sticking halfway out of the fender

I did nothing this week as well but MRI's and doctors appointments🤬$$$$$🤬 Arthur Itus Pain AKA Stenosis is a SOB... anyway Mr. Pain has my back in knots. How's your weather going? Birgit, sunny, rainy anything I don't care as long as there is no snow involved.😁🤣😂🤣 It's running like small creeks along the driveway right now but we still have just at a foot of snow in most of the yard. The trees are acting like a heatsink and around the base of the trees it is melting out faster and the trees are sucking the excess water. Spring has sprung cuz i found three in the driveway.🤣😂🤣 They came off the tire chains.
