Figured I would update. I installed it. It turned out not to bad. I highly suggest to other people that if there's an existing tub n sink that you start at the tub back wall corner n work your way back to the door , my tub has a bump out in the middle so I struggled to get them to lock. As you need to lift the tiles to lock them in. Also the unfortunate thing about these tiles is that you may need to sacrifice a whole tile if you need just a small piece as the locking edge is required for install. Or you will need to ad some type of grout to get matching seams. All in all I give this product 8/10.

@A.G.T.A19 күн бұрын
Spray foam is the best bang for your buck and would provide the highest R-value… in your instance the least amount of air flow under that flow would be most helpful… also some type of thermal break… typically any flooring that won’t transmit any cold easily

My plumbing was on the exterior wall. It's a slab house with no other real options to run the plumbing. What I did was I framed basically a knee wall, bumping the exterior wall in just at the height to the bottom of the windows and ran the plumbing through it. I have the top capped off to make a shelf to place plants, pictures,etc on. This way, the plumbing isn't in the exterior wall and I was able to complete the exterior wall fully with insulation. I did loose 4 inches down the wall, but because it's not even half the height of the exterior wall, it doesn't feel any smaller and the shelf makes it look nice.😂
@A.G.T.AАй бұрын
That’s a very smart compromise to get the ability to properly insulate the plumbing. I’ve had to do similar things in basement renos from time to time

We just moved the downspout from draining at the front where the garage is to the other side of the house where there is grass. We had to change the pitch of the eavestrough to allow the water to drain to the new downspout location. When you move a downspout, you either have to replace the portion of the trough that had the hole cut through it, or repair it with a piece of trough and seal it up
@RosieLuvRNАй бұрын
What did you end up doing to fix this problem. I have a similar problem. House is old and settled. The threshold is bowed up in the middle so both doors are hard to close. Looks like we need to shave the door down to make them close since there’s not enough room to shim them up and still close the doors.
@A.G.T.AАй бұрын
The only way to fix doors with this problem is to either pull the trim and adjust the shims by unfastening the doors, or making adjustments to the door/doorway… in this case we pull the bottom sweep off of the door, shaved the door down a bit and put a new sweep on it. We adjusted the depth of the hinges slightly as well and used longer screws to fix the loosening which caused a bit of the issue… be careful with going crazy with one fix as temperate weather causes the opening to swell and contract and may present another issue

This is used on a tub (so there is no pan for it) if you are using an acrylic shower surround kit, some will have a base that is made by the same manufacturer, but you can use another base. You just need to make sure you seal the bottom of the wall where it meets the base.

Please could I get a copy of the plans. This looks great and just what I’m looking for in my garage
@A.G.T.A2 ай бұрын
Unfortunately I don’t have a copy of the plans as I did this off the cuff without a plan… I can tell you that it’s basically making a straight and level ledge on a full plywood wall and then attaching your worktop (in this case I used 3/4” plywood) using sturdy hinges… then at desired intervals (depending on how strong you need the worktop) have supports attached with hinges to the wall (make sure that the thickness of your ledge that you attached the worktop to is slightly thicker than the thickness of your supports so when you push them flat to the wall, the worktop hinges can clear them and lay flat against the wall. Having levelling legs on the bottom of the supports will account for a garage floor that isn’t level. Again I’m sorry I don’t have plans for this… I hope this helps… if you have any other specific questions, I’ll be happy to answer them for you
