As someone who hasn't played any real rpgs, just watered down ones like Bethesda and Bioware onrs, should i give deus ex a shot? Im pretty shit at rpg mechanics in even the watered down ones so always wanted to try but am worried wont do well and not enjoy it

People who still think Arasaka are the villaims of the story didn't get the point of Cyberpunk. The villain of the game is Night City and the unfortunate circumstance of living there. Night City is a harsh and unforgiving urban hell where heroes never win and burn out like matches and fall to the wayside of irrelevancy. The only way you win this game is to flatline yourself or leave, don't push your luck, and cherish what you still have.

Jensen has alot going on that make him actually beat especially if you include certain weapons in his arsenal like the Saber Laser Rifle which he can fire a beam through walls such as with Smart Vision active and it's really strong at base, Adam's Augs or more the limbs & stuff are not able to be shut down after disabling them, they still work and are powered by his bio-energy from his body but the Eyes dont exactly function completely but just enough for him to still move them & see, plus there's a reliable Reboot System to bring back the other Augs online unless he is installed with something like the Illuminati's Biochip willingly which is clear viruses are definitely still a problem but we dont really know exactly if that's true.

One franchise has been going on longer with an entire catalogued history of events in its tabletop and even after an awful AAA launch has been able to recuperate into something more, that being an upcoming sequel, books, and a more than likely movie/show adaptation. The other walked so other games could crawl…but it was swallowed up by a larger publisher, was released, and is now on life support now that their new game was cancelled. And I guess no one read the shards or listened to N54? CDPR did focus more on the human or “punk” factor that did sacrifice some of the cyber “or tech” in the genre but there is an entire world besides a dying thief with digital schizophrenia. I can admit personally would’ve like to have seen more of the Corporate Wars but that doesn’t mean they didn’t happen. Idk man, Ghostrunner is fun I guess.

Gameplay-wise, Smasher got beaten up by some cyber ghetto kid while Jensen destroys augs with multiple abilities that been hand picked by the Illuminati itself. This imo, speaks a volume

Best versus I've ever seen

Jensen could high diff beat Smasher but Adam is a literal walking tank. Barrett is a close candidate but Marachenko isn’t a good comparison. Smasher utilizes a Dragoon (full body conversion) that is capable of great speed and strength that can takedown elite corpo squads. Don’t let pre 2.0 Smasher and your souped up builds fool on you on the lore. (Granted there’s not much specifics on the techno cyberware or what he’s done but he is definitely just not any solo)
