All that and still went through chain final drive. Was it lack of prop shaft tech n differentials strength? I know how strong chains are on old stuff. Rem steam tar wagon when a child ,out accelerated anything. Massive torque. Scary though at speed. Love how tight the engineering is. Magic ,thank you.

SOLUTION: Driving the car into cold water would have caused that brake drum to crack. Instead of spending any more time trying to repair that damaged drum, machine a new drum from scratch, from some better material.
