I hate the bodies of funnies now, they all are the same square slabs of fiberglass. Best time for funnies was the 70's. By the mid-80's the individuality was fading away and you couldn't tell a Ford from a Mopar.

I was there. Way down on the fence on the left side. I believe they keep you just shy of the 1/8 mile mark. From where I was standing, I thought the body came off. And then we all turned our heads to watch the big screen replays

just wondering what is the top speed on a Kawasaki kz1000 and how would it do keeping up with a newer sports bike like a 2002 Suzuki gsxr1000 Kawasaki ninja zx1000 Honda CBR1000RR would a Kawasaki kz1000 keep up with them OK because eventually I am going to get another older sports bike I had a 1988 Suzuki katana gsx600f and it kept up with my brothers 1999 Suzuki gsxr750 and our dad had a 1982 Suzuki GS650 and it also kept up just fine

krippy will420 that looks a lot like Tennessee if I may ask what state is that if it is Tennessee like I am thinking where about would it be I am asking because my dad lived in Tennessee for 23 years he lived in War trace Tennessee by Shelby vile for on Union ridge and then he lived in Estill springs Tennessee for 5 or 6 years and I have moved back and forth from Tennessee and Michigan my whole life and then December 3rd 2015 I went to Arizona for a while to be with my wife and to have her move back to Michigan after 12 years where we are both from and grew up we both are from battle Creek Michigan

Notice how the burst panel blew open, that kept the body from detaching and possibly hitting Roberts car in the opposite lane.. Safety measures at work..

The burst panel is held in with 4 small zip ties. The body coming unlatched @ the rear tree while staying connected at the front is what saved him

PRE CBS FENDER ummm🤦♂️ I just so happen to work for Cruz on his funny car!!! have you ever seen how we latch the body down in front? We have 2 titanium latches . This is why the front of the body tends to stay attached while the rest of the body shreds. Where the body mounts to the chassis on the rear tree we have a C notched hanger. This allows us to remove the body like we do with 3 guys. When the body detached from the rear of the car but stayed attached to the front of that car it went from being a scoop to a kite.

@@groomlake51 dude i know exactly how the body attaches..again, that burst panel opening allowed just enough air to escape keeping the body attached.. remember opinions are like assholes.. everybody has one.. i sure hope Cruzer gets a win soon, its been too long..when is Cruz going to hire a productive crew chief who'll put him on the podium.. or is he going to continue to drive and tune this year..?

That is amazing. The car was totally off the ground for about 100 ft. and had about an 800 ft. wheel stand landing at least 100 ft. past the finish line.

Its called "Top fuel funny car ..TF/FC".. They run the same exact nitro methane 500cc hemi engine as the Top Fuel dragsters.. Same engine shorter wheel base...

The Burst panel safety measure.. its actually designed to open during a blower explosion, and a wheel stand..
