25 yrs. ago driving old Rt.66 , i "accidentally" stopped at the Bagdad Cafe to ask about an old airstream out in back.....not for sale , but i learned of the movie ...........i have a great story about Bagdad to tell , if you're interested , but not today anyway , that haunting theme song remains , and today was happy to see this posted to watch here , and in the complete version....i'd only seen a truncated version back then ( tho' i agree with another comment that the return portion slightly weakened the movie , but taste....) ...THANK YOU !

@@LitzingersProject well , since the then cook claimed to own the airstream and wouldn't sell , i drove on to arizona where i wintered (i'm a snowbird/hobo from oregon ) a couple years later i was in the neighborhood again , and had OLD paper maps ( i'm also a luddite , and hadn't the digital toys of today) , i found Baghdad on the map , and drove back and forth 50/100 miles on 66 looking for it , but it was GONE, as was the cafe , i couldn't find it ! late in the day i finally pulled off to sleep under a 40 ft. (honest) palo verde tree.....i thought i was in the twilight zone , that i'd misforgotten , or that i might wake up in 1945 in Baghdad......towns don't COMPLETELY disappear in 2 yrs.! next morning i went for a walk , and a railroad sign said Baghdad , so the town HAD disappeared ...just concrete slabs now i was getting freaked ( this is the quiet desert where magic happens , as the movie tells ) until a couple of highway surveyors came walking along , and i asked them W.T.F.?......they laughed and told me Bagdad was a W.W.2 hangout for soldiers , but that the cafe had been moved when the town died ....(?)........anyway , i doubt my telling conveys the dread i felt at the time , but honestly i was almost sorry to learn " the rest of the story"......i never got back to the cafe , but note from recent videos that the airstream is still out back
