Interesting. Have you read Martin Hagglund's article: “The Radical Evil of Deconstruction: A Reply to John Caputo,” ? I think he is driving at very related ideas but on the more radical level of mundane life being a continuous and structurally essential enactment of sacrifice. Rather than sacrifice being an act raised above and set apart from the mundane, sacrifice is an essential functioning of existence. You can find the pdf of “The Radical Evil of Deconstruction: A Reply to John Caputo,” online, if you are interested.

Great video. The etymological argument is a bit weak from my perspective since Akun doesn't imply ambiguity but a "break, edge, point" etc. The term "cute" is just American English slang for "acute". Is acute ambiguous? Idk. Seems, thin...

Sorry, your just wrong, good news is this gnostic knockoff is false. Time, like space is not a substance. Time is the quantification of change or you could say measure of change. So the sort of properties that apply to certain substances can not be applied to the non substance of what we call "time" or the becoming.

I'm a Buddhist and I think Black Myth: Wukong made Wukong character off railed. He reached enlightenment and got title Victorious Fighting Buddha (in Mahayana Buddhism) or Arhat (Savaka Buddha) in Theravada Buddhism. His defilements disappeared completely; hatred, greed, ignorance, ego, desire. I dunno what happened with wukong in Black Myth :/

Yup... that's kind of what inspired me to make the video. The video-game is a complete 180 of what the character from Journey to the West ultimately became in the end (the game literally goes backwards and reverts the character back to his wild beginnings). Perhaps they called it "Black Myth" due to the darker take on the character itself, reverting him back to his unenlightened roots and filling him with all of the personal flaws he previously overcame as a character (it also seems that "Black Myth" will be the leading title for Game Science's upcoming series of games). Though I was a big fan of Taoism in my youth, I must admit that it was DBZ that initially got me interested in the character of Wukong as a kid. Anyways, thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers and best blessings! ^_^

@@MrCJCala I tried to find a connection between this story and Dhamma (Buddha Teaching). I realized that the last animated scene after Wukong turned around was before he carried out his suicide plan. In Dhamma, the Enlightened One, is able to decide when he'd Parinibbana (die) and not reincarnate again in this 31 realms (Absolute Freedom) but in Wukong's case, how can he die? in my opinion, firstly, there is no God or entity can defeat him. Second, this is the important thing in Dhamma, Wukong won't let anyone kill him because killing an Arhat (Savaka Buddha) is one of the four Greatest Akusala Kamma. (bad karma). Wukong as 'Victorious Fighting' Buddha or Arhat definitely has pure heart, no defilements. So he pulled the Spear that Erlang was holding and stab himself . I think, it can still be accepted as a storyline.

NOTE: @ 1:43, it should be noted that while the "good ending cut-scene" shows scenes from Journey to the West, the scenes are presented in reverse order, beginning with the end and ending with the beginning. Thus, the scenes symbolically invert the novel's intended interpretation, allowing Nirvana to be displaced by Gnosis. . . . *EDIT:* For those interested, it seems someone did a full audio-book recording of Journey to the West (link below). The translation isn't by Anthony C. Yu, but the reading is well done. Journey to the West English Amateur Audiobook (by Sondley) - kzbin.info/aero/PLZ6beLYjhoHphXm-skPtSZgJveZ80HiX0

anime characters are demons manifesting from the technosphere into our world by taking over identities. the oversexed nature of anime combined with the neoteny is deliberate. abd yes, the technosphere is real, the same way the human brain is an interface of the noosphere and matter, so is technology the interface of the technosphere and matter. our internet personas are our secondary souls in the technosphere. our persona will live forever in there the same way that our souls are immortal. at some point in the future, our descendants will be entirely technospheric beings, basically AI but human. there will never be a "brain uploading" type singularity, since everyone of us has already been uploaded. the singularity already happened with the founding of the WWW, all the RL is now is the obsolete afterglow of the technological rapture

"transgressive" is the self-descriptor of an edgelord with money. i wonder if its still as satisfying for these people to "transgress" now that the unstoppable march of progress has reduced the pool of "unbreakable taboos" to scientifically insignificant amounts. what even is there to transgress anymore, except nazism and noncery, and the latter is being actively normalized. ultimately, transgression is self defeating because controversial things tend to be normalized given enough time, until theres nothing left to transgress. and once all morality is gone, the most transgressive thing you can do is to be a moral person.

so if the golden sun is the cosmic mouth and the black sun is the cosmic anus, that would mean the alchemical transformation of lead (black sun) to gold (gold sun) is a complete reversal of the natural movement of digestion. like a form of cosmic sodomy, it goes against the natural direction of things. however, the natural direction of things is evil. the entropic force may be stronger, symbolized by the celestial mouth leading to the celestial anus, meaning that the black sun, saturn, death, the rotten and animalistic cosmic anus, is the attractive force in this world. thus by following the natural order, you obviously move away from the desirable and civilized golden sun towards the repugnant realm of saturn. ergo, despite the paradoxical appearance, to reach god you must go against natural law, and by alchemical means penetrate the cosmic anus of the black sun, moving up and reemerging in the golden light of sol. i get the feeling that christians will hate me for this comment

I think you are right that self-improvement is self defeating and that we have to work to improve society as a whole. This is similar to the stoic idea of cosmopolitanism. We are part of a whole and fighting against it to rise up in hierachies hurts us. I don't agree that we should just be though, but that we should grow with the community around us.

Fiction's uninteresting without evil, so fiction is evil? Isn't this what's sometimes known as 'shooting the messenger'? Just because there are Nazis in 'Casablanca' doesn't mean 'Casablanca' is pro-Nazi. Where I might get on board with the idea is thinking about 'Blue Velvet'. It's like a Hardy Boys mystery made real: the young protagonist pursues the mystery he finds in his home town with prurient glee. 'You like mysteries all that much?' says his appalled girlfriend. 'Yeah!' Ultimately this leads him into voyeurism of sexual violence - in which we, the audience also participate - and then actual participation in that violence. It all gets a bit much and he hurries back to picket-fence normality, but Lynch's point is made: the reader or viewer of the story doesn't just want to see evil to see it punished or condemned, but out of ghoulish fascination and even sadism.

Excerpts from 50 F(ool)ish Sayings & 50 P(r)etty Poems * * * from Part 1: 50 F(ool)ish Sayings 5. Demos is "the people." Kratia is "power." Democracy means "power of the people," where "the people rule." But, in the gnostic search for Luciferian enlightenment, man has become illuminated. Therefore, Demon merges with Demos. Demon, of course, stems from "daimon," which is a "deity genius." For all us intellectuals, demo(n)cracy sure is a sight to see! 22. The word "understand" comes from "understandan," which essentially means "to stand in the midst, or to stand in between." When we say we understand, we thus forever remain betwixt, which is tied to the words "be" and "two." Thus, understanding has always been a dualistic perspective of being, tied to the dyad and, thus, endless difference in either Deleuzian diagrammatic terms or in Derridean deconstructionism itself. To understand, therefore, is to offer up to all an eternal ambivalence. To "be" "two" leads to "Becoming" through the "third" term. In such a well understood system, there is no monism for man [just Deleuzian monism through plurality]. Only the transcendental can truly touch a unified and timeless eternity. 25. The etymology of the word "question" is "quaere," which means "to look/seek." Thus it is that the adventurous quests we go on in life are linked to an unanswerable question. For if the question were ever answered, the quest itself would cease and our adventuring would end. To lead a life of endless adventure, one must accept the infinite and unanswerable. Questions must remain forever unanswered if one is to continually quest. Once one [thinks he] has all the answers, his adventure ends. 32. "'I'm dying of boredom,' Howl said pathetically. 'Or maybe just dying.'" - Diana Wynne Jones, from Howl’s Moving Castle Boredom simply means an end to our adventures. Naturally, death shortly thereafter ensues. It is a spiritual death of sorts. But ongoing quests always concern themselves with unanswered questions! Boredom, then, simply means not opening oneself up to an infinite assortment of unanswerable inquiries! 38. Queer is defined as odd; yet, etymologically, "queer" is linked to "querer," which means "to seek or desire." Again, we see the link between oddity and desire in the act of Becoming Other. Deleuzian desire is quite queer, linked to the alien and outsider. In fact, like Lovecraft, we are Becoming quite the queer creature. We are all now occupants of Innsmouth. 42. With the word "queer" linked to the notion of "seeking or desiring," quests, too, come across as quite queer. Queerness, questing, and questions are all linked to an unanswerable solution that all of us seek to discover for ourselves. This is the transcendental (N)One of All things. * * * from PART 2: 50 P(r)etty Poems 6. Will tarot and astrology Free me of my destiny? But how am I to be free When I know not what my fate will be? Twenty-two cards, linked to the Sephirot Tree Have the occult wisdom to foresee And tell me of some coming prophecy. Yet, I know the prophets guiding me Are the ones profiting from this economy. Foreseeing fate and destiny for them is not hard When they control the turn of each card. Oh, for them, what fortunes they foresee In the unfortunate masses prophecy! 12. "Do there exist many worlds, or is there but a single world?" - Albertus Magnus Whether Theophrastus von Hohenheim, Nicolas Barnaud, or Basil Valentine, To the alchemist "All is One and One is All," Equating macrocosm and microcosm, or big and small. For light is a rainbow arc of plurality That refracts back as white light in unity. Chasing toward the leprechaun's gold After rainfall is magic enough to behold! But, when the trickster Fae have their fun, (N)ONe become All and All becomes (N)One, Mysteriously and mystically hidden away In the foggy spell of transcendentality. The spoken Word becomes St. Patrick's prayer As he rises up and then vanishes into thin air. 13. Materialists are blind and nihilistically bleak. To them, God is the eternal champ of hide-and-seek.
