it’s now 2024 . i first heard of the Enid in 1981 or 1982 (because I was odd by being 17 yrs old but loving some of the old prog bands from Britain from the 1970s in spite of also loving the happening post punk , goth, industrial metal acts) when the gas fitter I was carrying the toolbox for remarked how he & his early 20 something mates had seen & not forgotten a Prog type band called The Enid at Reading cos of their rendition of Dambusters ! it wasn’t till being at Stonehenge in 1984 that along with Nik Turners’inner city unit, Amazulu , Buster Bloodvessel , Roy Harper is watched the Enid in a big tent & they were as fantastic as Nigel at work had recalled a couple of years before . I lie - I’d seen them at the hideous Reading festival in 1983 ! Anyway for my sins I never did anything to follow their efforts or art until discovering the absolutely fabulous & sublime Invicta on it appearing on YT in 2011
