I love how we're seeing a mini renaissance of ps1 style inspired games, like crow country and this. They have so much charm.

After everything and playing through myself I can say this is probably my favorite princess. The other ending “stencil” as many call it is just as interesting!

Another great episode. A critic I have about the game tho, is how it does a poor job explaining the Gith lore from DnD so most players just feel bad for Orpheus being imprisonned as if he were some innocent dude. He and Voss are loyal to mother Gith, who swore to enslave every other races and conquer all the planes. She was kinda like DnD Hitler. Zerthimon left her and formed the Githzerai seeing how she became so alike to the Mindflayers they freed themselves from. Mother Gith is the reason the Githyanki are culturally evil, Vlaakith made it worse because she cares only for herself while Mother Gith wanted all the Giths to rule the planes together.

I'll also add that every companion has a skill that can auto-trigger in combat (on its own cooldown that doesn't affect their other skills) if you put points into it. Lucanis' auto-trigger skill is Enhanced Damage. Bellara's is the healing one. Harding's is Shred. Etc. Etc. Worth it to put points in to unlock the auto-trigger for each companion.

Oh, holy hell, this is going to be bad. I watched a full LP of this the other day and it was disturbing even by the standards of existing psychological horror games.

14:29 Fun fact: Quinine is one of the oldest prescribed medicines that we still use today (originally used by the Inca to cure fever, then spread by Jesuit priests as a cure for Malaria, we have better anti-malarial drugs now but Quinine is still used as a backup if an infection becomes resistant to treatments) Also apparently it does have a bitter flavour and was used in sodas for a while (but I don't think it is anymore due to the afformentioned health side effects if you ingest too much)

What a nice surprise, I just finished playing it last weekend and it was quite the experience. Nice to see Welonz taking responsibility :P

That "glitchy" noise this game uses? When a system hangs or crashes, new sound data is no longer fed into the audio ring buffer. But the sound playback doesn't wait - it's always going, because sound playback must always be seamless. When that new data fails to arrive, it just rolls over and loops through what it has. It's a fraction of a second worth of buffered sound, stuck on repeat, until the system either recovers or fails altogether. A very unnerving sound to anyone who uses a PC a lot.

Also arrows can be great. Specifically ones like Roaring Thunder, which will push people (and you can cleverly place to throw out of range, off a roof or cliff, etc) or Darkness which can blind ranged or spellcasters rendering them near useless

You can heal under the target, without selecting all 6/6 targets. You have to hit the green check mark to the right of the selection orb in your toolbat
