There are way too many bland synth makers. No one needs this.

P10 looks great. All I know is I bought the miniverse and, bearing in mind I could never afford a minimoog when they came out, and settled on a Yamaha cs5, the miniverse on my DAW has been a a joy and has helped me sell some more of my music. Thanks you Cherry Audio.

Another great show gents, always good to see Dan and Mitchell with a new product out. Much congrats on its success 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾(will be getting involved in due course) I must say that I can't view AI as just another tool, there is a form of human-created sentience in there which takes it to another level. Sure it helps us to do some stuff more efficiently, but at what price? AI art is swamping the social media channels, with unscrupulous folks trying to pass it off as human created, AI music made at a fraction of the cost is taking work away from human musicians, AI voiceover putting more humans out of work, the list could go on. I think that we are sleepwalking towards a place where human to human artistic expression will more and more become a luxury, not a world I would be happy living in. All of which is the hors de oeuvre to what I think is by far the gravest danger, which is what the militaries of this world are doing with this capability ...

So the big announcement is a course which you have to pay for? It would be so nice to see people on KZbin/Socials making content purely because of their passion for it. Everyone is trying to sell you something.

become the change you want to see in the world.
@andrewlonghurst807210 күн бұрын
I understand that in these times of austerity and freely available YT content that paying for a course may seem unjustified. However, there is a lot of free content available on KZbin. There is also a lot of paid content available elsewhere. You can choose which you want to watch and/or learn from. For me, though, Antony has put together a course that is unparalleled in its ability to engage and deliver a complete set of tutorials that feel like one-to-one mentoring by one of the pioneers of electronic sound creation. The time and cost of creating this course more than justifies the charge, but you are free to look elsewhere for free tuition.

Setting the price at 449/290$ is...brave. I wish them luck as the course looks pretty amazing. It's not for me, though. TE lipstick :) definetly.

Agreed… hopefully they let you see one of the lessons in full before spending that kind of cash.

I like Anthony's channel a lot. But in a world where TrueFire is selling annual access plans to 80,000 guitar lessons from pro teachers for $119, I think $290 for 6 and a half hours of video is, um, very aggressive pricing.

New website is now live. Looks great, but the course pre-sale price is listed at $450 reduced from the full price of $697
@Murray_Browne10 күн бұрын
I should say that pricing on the website may be shown to me in AUD rather than US. Just checked again and the price has changed slightly so there may be a currency conversion going on. I've contacted them to clarify.

@@budgetkeyboardistI was expecting 149$ so yeah...but it'll come down to that in time. No way they can keep it that high in this climate. Groove3 is 90$ per year...I guess the panel all like the guy so much (and I do, too) they wouldn't mention the price is a bit...well...Teenage Engineering :)

Any idea where i could find a scedule for modifying the 914 filter bank? To give it jack inputs for triggering the frequenties? That would enlarge the usability, don 't you think?

Yes of course the VP1 is the king and must be done! But what about the Roland VP9000 or VSynth? They must be done too!! Why are there no VariOsc instruments yet?

Very true! It does seem that those DSP heavy synths of the late 90s/early 00s are overlooked. Surely, by now, computer processing power must be capable of emulating those things. We live in hope! Great to see you here, as always, Scott! 🙂

A bit OT: Is there a Yamaha synth with all of the Reface engines? SW: Korg Z and Trinity. Just to remind me of my younger years :) I owned a Trinity, don't remember selling it but I def don't have it now.
@ProSynthNetwork17 күн бұрын
Nope, the Reface synths were only ever available on their own. That said, the Montage certainly pulls together all four of those sound types. I'm told that the AN-X engine in Montage M uses technology from the Reface CS. Korg, as yet, haven't delivered a software Z1 or Trinity but they do the Prophecy and Triton in their plugin range.

Super cool episode with one of my musical heroes. I'm still coming to grips with the idea that Craig's drum parts were played on pads - I would have never known. The drumming is amazing. With regards to Cubase - I stopped using it years ago because it had too many issues. I'm sure it's better now, but I love Logic Pro, and it's a heck of a lot cheaper in the short run and the long run. Cubase will break with every other new Mac OS, requiring a paid update.
@apislapis26 күн бұрын
Great show as always. Are the musicians that regularly play with Jem Godfrey perma-frost? I find myself in a similar boat to Kent with Cubase. You get to a certain age and you think well do I need to learn every new DAW that comes out or do I stick to the one I already know well, so I settled on Cubase. I decided when Cubase 11 came out that it was time to buy a genuine version having used the old try before you buy Cubase 5 for years. I did own a genuine version of 4 but the dongle is just about holding together having broken it once before. I still use 11 as my latest version Cubase 12 won't run older 32 bit plugins that I still like using. I thought I'd skip 13 and buy 14 and boy has that version has come around far too speedily. Kerching! I want a resonably recent version of Cubase to run the GForce & Cherry Audio software I've bought over the last couple of years. Not impressed tbh.
