MAG 200 SPOILERS (as in, big spoilers): I'm now imagining Tim meeting up with John and Martin in their afterlife rowboat and he's surprisingly happy to see them and is all like "come meet my new adoptive dad!" And then the three of them row/kayak to where Peter is enjoying a rare moment of Lonely peace and quiet when Tim shows up with John and Martin in tow. John looks like he wants to kill Peter again. Martin looks like he wants to help John kill Peter this time around. Peter looks scared and like he wants to vanish into the Lonely. Tim is oblivious (or at least seemingly oblivious) to the tension.

I think Tim knows exactly what he's doing, and is hoping for a reconciliation between them, or at least peace talks. He also wanted to see the look on John's face. To avoid it getting messy, he's arranged for Gertrude Robinson to covertly follow in her submarine and has radio contact with her. If any of them tries anything, she'll surface and very quickly put a stop to it.
