I hope you can advice. iI have a harmonica track in Bb and I have a low C harmonica. I want to learn the song and have it in Garageband. I want to change the key of the song. Any ideas?
@Harmonica1235 күн бұрын
If I had a low C, I would want the track I'm playing with to be in the key of G (2nd position on the low C). The next key I would consider would be C (1st position on the low C harmonica)

I thought it was the model I had that not sound like the harps I hear musicians and harp legends play but that’s not the reason I’m just playing it wrong.

Mate, that's awesome. Bought to my self g harp suzuki harpmaster recently, happy as a Larry now, sounds lovely, comparing with first c harp which is seydel, bought it a year ago. Haven't got any words to describe the feelings 😊

C is my least favourite key. The F is too high, the low F is a little too low. Playing in 3rd on a Bb is a good solution, BUT I find the 3 draw chokes out if I bend too much. In contrast I can be a little rough with the bigger reeds on a G, for example. Is this just me? I can’t quite get comfortable with C…
@sagehopkins19 күн бұрын
My only question is what did you have to give up at the crossroads to be able to play like that! 😉

When I jam with others, I mostly grab the same Key harp and try to harmonize with the lead singer. Is that something you recommend?
@Harmonica12318 күн бұрын
This can work but I'd recommend experimenting with 2nd position not just 1st position. It'll open up your options tremendously. Find a position chart so you know how to grab the right harmonica.
@johngainer773918 күн бұрын
You have vast knowledge al very helpful. I first bought the C, G, and A, Then Am Lee Oscar. Then bought dozens of other harps. I like the Low F, Low C, G Oscar melody, Chromatics, extra C for lessons, Sydel's and Honer's.
