The frontier stain is actually made of laminated sapele according to Gretsch customer service. It is the sun burst that is made out of basswood

Yep I've had the Sigma 000M-15 since 2012 - 12 years and the Sigma 000-R28V since 2014 - 10 years. In that time they have both opened up beautifully and sound fantastic. Don't let the solid back and sides suck you in it's the tops that count and these guitars deliver 100%. Cheers.

I love both. I do wonder if the solid top on the 55 would result in more feedback though.

They both sound good but the 28 is more versatile in my set. The 18 sounds great for flat picking and strumming. The 18 is very woody and crisp, which I love. The 28 is similar, but has shimmer and a more rounded tone to be able to play so many more styles. It's more of an all rounder. The answer is to get both! If that's not possible, the 28 is more versatile (in my sessions).

The Guild 512-12 string. Easily the best 12-string in the world. My biggest regret is the maple version I had many, many years ago and foolishly let go. I can still feel the loss even now!!!

Depends on where you live. In the USA Falcons go for 3500 to 4000. Personally if I were to get one. I would get the players edition. Which is a 59 but with a tone knob instead of switch. Along with a few touches that brings it into the modern day. Like a string through Bigby, locking tuners, a pined bridge, and so forth. And they tend to fall in that 3500 range. If you absolutely want a spruce top then you are going to be in that 4000 range.

@@bassplayer2011ify I am fortunate enough to have the Players Edition for the last couple of years and it's a really great guitar. But I'm also (if she lets me 🥰) going to get the 59VS as the deeper body, TV Classics and the mud switch make for another another dimension to the Falcon experience.

Thanks for the great playing and excellent demonstration of what that beautiful guitar can do! Is it a straight OM2H or does it have a German top and Adirondack bracing? Thanks again for the beautiful playing.

This is an excellent comparison video! The Sitka top was very special. I mostly play fingerstyle and the wider strings spacing and Adirondack top would be a joy. Thank you.

Is this a stereo guitar? (Output jacks) I have seen B.B. play live and it was an amazing experience.
@hi13ts

Not anymore, to its benefit, in my opinion. Stereo outputs can be fun but it really does affect the interplay between the two volume knobs even if you use the shunted bottom jack for “mono”.

Notice no thumb over like Martin 12s or other guitars? I have one of these, the neck is so stupidly wide, you struggle and it's too hard to play. I am a pro player, 30 year gig player, these CC 12s too wide, and hard to play. Don't buy
