As I've written to my pastor, if there had been no COVID-19 I wonder how many church services I'd have been able to attend since winter. I'm multiply disabled, and have been getting sicker and weaker most of the year. But Tenth is always a blessing to me. Thank you.

Pastor, thank you for the comforting words you bring us, each Sunday evening. I so look forward to the videos. I am praying for your daughter, as she takes care of her patients. As an RN, I understand her work. May the Lord bless you all, as you minister to us. There is great sweetness, in these videos.

Thank you for posting this. It was a very good performance. All of the musicians were excellent. I would rate this as close to the recordings I have of these pieces by professional choirs and orchestras. The soloists and leading instrumentalists are all to be commended. (The smiling of the soprano did not just brighten her tone, but convinced us she was rejoicing in the Resurrection of our Lord - an example for us all.) Editing out of the time before the performance actually started and the intermission would be nice and should not be hard to do. It was also too bad the trumpeter was hidden behind a pillar.

6 years in a row for this ruling elder ( now ) watching the service at 10th. My wife is harpist at First Presbyterian Omaha . Our church is the oldest in Omaha , Of course we do not have Pennsylvania type history but our "new building" just turned 100 years old . God bless our friends at 10th Presbtyerian. I love your service.

In Early Part of this Service in a reading Reader Said, "One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church" Etc... Was Presbyterian Church at One Time under banner/jurisdiction of Catholic Church ?? No Complaint, Only Question ??
@TenthPres7 жыл бұрын
That's a great question. We say "I believe in... the holy catholic church" as part of saying the Apostle's Creed together. The Creed is older than the distinction between Presbyterian and Roman Catholic. So, when we say it, we're using the word "Catholic" as a pronoun, not as part of a proper noun. That word catholic literally means "universal." So, when we say "holy catholic church," we're saying that we believe all Christians everywhere are united as members of the universal church.

Is this a large Rodger's Electronic Organ or is this a Allen... the console casing is beautiful, and the sound is tremendous, light bright, tonal quality is excellent. What Organ is this?
@TenthPres7 жыл бұрын
It is an AEolian-Skinner organ built by the Walker Technical Company and RA Colby. You can see the full list of stops here: www.racolby.com/pages/instruments/tenth-pres-phila.html

God has made His plan of salvation! [Mark 16:16]. Our Lord Jesus has placed salvation AFTER belief AND baptism! Notice the eternal life promised in John 3:16 is "IN" Christ [1 John 5:11]!! How does one get "IN" Christ? [Galatians 3:27; Romans 6:3].

This service had me in tears the whole time. Thirty years ago a wonderful child of God was taken to His presence in a fire innocently caused by him. He was 6 years of age and many of the traits exposed about Stephen here were also part of Bryan LeMasters. That little boy adored classical music. His favourite composition was Respighi Pines of Rome). He also knew Tchaikovsky Swan Lake by memory taking a stick as a baton conducting the whole ballet with extraordinary aplomb and knowledge. During the memorial service I played his favourite Mozart piano Sonata in C while tears streamed down my cheeks. One wonders why God in His Sovereignty has to put this hard tests on us. Many thanks for this upload and my heart goes out to Stephen Little,s parents.

What a truly dynamic service to the Glory of our God. And... what wonderful humor from the announcements. Who said that Calvinists are just square and serious? Wonderful music and heartfelt prayers. Sweet sounding clarinet. Wonderful expository message from the Pastor. This perfection and dedication to the Sovereignty of our God is a model that should be followed by all churches immersed in the Doctrines of Grace. Sadly I am witnessing some of them adopting mundane schemes.

This is truly a REAL church service honouring the Sovereignty of our God. The powerful congregational singing reflects their deeply rooted faith. Respectful and majestic music with wonderful prayers goes hand in hand with Col 3:16. I wish we had churches like these in Mexico. The modest (small) Reformed Baptist church services that I attend to are much like this model. Blessings to all of you and greetings from Tijuana. (Do you have a live werbcast?. I like to follow Dr. John MacArthur webcasts...pretty much like this service)

Great sermon! Thank you! For the Christian, his or her relationship with Jesus Christ transcends all failed relationships in this life. A wealth King who marries a poor prostitute. She offering him only her failures and consequences and sins, ... He giving her all things to her. A marriage swap of grace and forgiveness. Wow, ... Our covenant God purposes this as He establishes and fulfills His love for His bride, the Church (built up of living stones). The Church is not an insignificant 'side group' in society and culture. She is His bride of the all powerful and loving Jesus Christ, her Bridegroom whom He delights in. (Is. 61;62; Luke 11; Eph. 5) ... where on the day of Heaven, there will be the culmination of the happiest of happy endings ... and His Church will throw their crowns to His feet (Rev.22:17)

Our family was so encouraged by the expository preaching of the Truth this morning. For the first time I made the connection between Is. 53:9 and Mat. 27:57 accounting for the fulfillment of specific prophecy. The pastor said, 'You just cant make this stuff up'. ... So true! Predicted 700 years previous by the prophet Isaiah, Joseph from Arimathea a wealthy disciple of Jesus, was granted Jesus' dead body and placed it in an honorable grave. This is certainly not how those sentenced as criminals were laid to rest or should I say left for the ravens to scavenge upon the diet of a pile of dead corpses. A testimony or memorial to the One who bore the willful dishonorable rebellion of His sheep to become the willful sacrificial servant (Lamb) to the point of death, an unjust executionary death upon the Cross. 'Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.' Jn. 1:36 ;10:15-18; Is. 53:7-9; Rev. 21:22-27 Amen

why did Jesus have to become human and die, to be a sacrifice,to come under the curse of God? the baptist John witnesses to Jesus' work "behold the Lamb of God (the sacrifice) who takes away the sin of the world (dies in our place) " i always appreciate Dr Goligher's thoughtful expositions, helping me see familiar passages in more faceted ways
