Digging your full blade into the ice is not 100% about getting across, but more about being able to rotate your ankle and turn with the aid of your chest movement. Just having the toe dig in, is not going to allow you to do this... and it's going to add an extra step when you don't have the additional time. Teaching kids the right way, even though they will struggle at first, is the only way to do it. Also, keeping your hands stationary as you go through your movements is super important as well.

I don't think lift is engaging. You have a CEL, lift has very specific parameters in order to activate the second lobe on the cams. Figure out what's causing the CEL, get those lift bolts replaced before you have to take timing cover off and hammer out the rocker shaft. Ask me how I know lol.

I've been trying to figure this out and might've just answered my question, I always thought you had to skate back to the post, but I have a problem getting shot high blocker. From what it looks like you stay right on the edge of the house making yourself bigger but also holding that angle without having to skate back and standing tall, to have more top shelf saves.
